Freakin’ Fabulous by Clinton Kelly

wntw-014

To keep my What Not To Wear stars’ book theme going, today I want to talk about Clinton Kelly’s book – Freakin’ Fabulous – How to Dress, Speak, Behave, Eat, Drink, Entertain, Decorate, and Generally Be Better Than Everyone Else.  Whew!  I now need a nap after saying that title.

I also met Clinton Kelly at the same book signing last fall with Carmindy, and Nick Arrojo.  I knew Clinton was tall, but he is super-tall – if I remember correctly something like 6’4″, and as nice and adorable as ever too.   The three of them seriously are as nice as ever.

Great Hair by Nick Arrojo

wntw-010This past fall I had  the opportunity to meet Nick Arrojo of the TLC show What Not To Wear.

He’s just as nice, and as handsome (even more so in person) as he is on TV.

He was promoting his book Great Hair: Secrets to Looking Fabulous and Feeling Beautiful Every Day.

I have been a fan of the TLC show for several years and have liked what he does with the hairstyles of the men and women on the show.   About the only time the styles don’t “wow” me is when the women are so attached to their hair that they will “die” if he cuts more than half an inch off.    Let him do his job!

Essence of Beauty (On a Budget)

beauty_on_a_budget311

essence of BEAUTY is a line of beauty products available at CVS that are great quality and budget minded.

50428110191Take these Moisturizing Gel Booties.   Slip them on your feet for at least 20 minutes and the gel is infused with a grape seed oil and vitamin E to moisturize and sooth the tired dogs.   50428110181

The same with these Moisturizing Gel Gloves.   Keep your hands soft and smooth.

Either of these are only $16.99 each.  I’ve seen other more famous brands for over $45 each.

Looking for a natural loofah to exfoliate your dry skin?   Theirs is only $1.99.    Yes, you read  that correctly.    $1.99!

kabukiBut one of the most amazing things in the product lineup are the makeup brushes.   Natural and synthetic hairs, these brushes are not skimpy on quality, just because the price is inexpensive.

The Kabuki brush is a beautifully thick brush that is comparable to other brand Kabuki brushes that are soooo much more expensive.

They have face and eye brushes available individually or in sets, and in travel pouches as well.   The prices begin at $4.49 on up, but most are around $10 (and some are $10 for a set!).

I love this Beauty on a Budget!    Be sure to check out CVS and essence of BEAUTY for your budget beauty buys.

Karma Organic Spa

polish-removernail-polish

Nausil Zaheer is a celebrity manicurist that was fed up with the constant smell of acetone and feeling dirty and sick from the chemicals that she worked with all day.

Taking matters into her own hands, she created a line of nail polishes and remover that were chemical and toxin free.  As long as she was going there, why not go all the way and have an organic and toxin free spa.   Karma Organic Spa in Ridgewood, NJ was born.

The nail polishes have over 50 colors to choose from.  They are non-toxic and chemical free.  No Toluene, Formaldehyde, or DBP and are cruelty free. The polishes go on smoothly, and with a nice consistency and last long.

The Organic Nail Polish Remover I tried is unscented with Vitamin E Oil.  The polish may not come off as lickity-split as acetone ones, but it’s well worth the few extra seconds it takes to remove.  And the big plus – absolutely no chemical smell.

* 100% Biodegradable
* 100 % Soy and Corn based
* Non-toxic
* Non-carcinogenic
* Free of any Petroleum Ingredients
* Derived from Farm Crops which in turn supports american farming
* Packaged in 100% recyclable glass bottles
* Comes in Lavendar, Tea Tree, or Unscented
