Instead of the French inspiration for the skincare line, Lancome has taken their inspiration for Energie de Vie Nuit from Asian beauty rituals. The Energie de Vie line of skincare was launched in 2013 and the newest piece in this collection is the Lancome Energie de Vie Nuit Night Recovery Beauty Sleep Mask-In-Cream.
This cream is concentrated and can be used with a lighter hand at night as a night cream or, as I like to use it once a week put it on a little thicker at bed time and use it as a mask. When I use this at night I wake up and my skin is visibly more hydrated and plumped. The first time I used it when I got up in the morning I looked at myself in the mirror and though – “hmmm, my skin looks pretty darn good today what’s up?” and then I remembered that I had used Energie de Vie Nuit for the first time. I was quite impressed!
They say it’s like a balm, but I disagree. It’s more like a cream, but not even a really heavy cream – more like a medium weight cream. It has three potent plant root extracts with traditional Chinese medicine inspiration as ingredients.
- Rhodiola Root Extract – Known for energizing properties it is anti-oxidant rich to help decrease signs of fatigue
- Gentiana Root Extract – Used for antioxidant benefits and improves radiance in the skin
- Wild Yam Root Extract – Generates lipids that nurture the skin
It also contains Astragalus Root Extract and Vitamin CG which combat free radicals and help improve radiance.
This sells for $65 and is sold for now exclusively at Sephora. I honestly thought it would be a lot more expensive than that. This one is definitely a once-a-week treatment my skin really loves.
