Have you heard me talk enough about the Dior Minaudiere palette? Well, it is one of my favorites – for the colors and the beautiful compact. Since I own the Plum/Golds version, I thought I’d show you a few makeup eye looks I created with the palette.
Here’s how I created the look:
After cleansing my face, I used Dior Capture Totale One. Then I prepped with Dior Skinflash Primer, and used Dior Capture Total Foundation in shade 021 all over to cancel out any redness. I then filled in my eyebrows in with the DiorShow Brow Styler and lightly dusted my face with tanslucent powder. From the Minaudiere I used the darkest plum shade along the upper and lower lash line and smudged. Then I used the middle shade on the lide and a bit above the crease. The lightest shade was used on the inner corner.
I then lined my upper lash line with Dior Precious Violet liner, topped my lashes with the DiorShow Lash Maximizing Plumping Serum and then coated them with DiorShow Extase Mascara. I then topped my lips with the gloss that’s included in the palette (although in this image it doesn’t show up very much). Lastly, I dusted Dior Sugar and Spice blush lightly on my cheeks.
Now, these eye shadows are quite shimmery and if you’d like to tone it down, Nick Caridi, artist with Dior suggested to me once to take a translucent powder and lightly dust over the shadows to tone down the shimmer. That’s what I did in this photo.
In this photo above I changed up the application a bit. I still lined the eyes with the same pencil color and the placement of the shadows is different. I applied the middle shade all over the the lid, the lightest shade in the corner and darker shade with a light application in the crease and a bit above. I then very lightly took the darkest shade and smudged lightly at the lower lash line.
I really like the versatility of this palette and the pretty shades. What do you think? What are some of your favorite Holiday sets you’ve seen?
