Fall, my favorite of all the seasons. I love the rich colors, the beautiful textures of fabrics and beauty and the way the shades just call my name. This season Estee Lauder has taken the metallic route with Estee Lauder Fall 2013, The Metallics, New Pure Color Collection.
When it comes to color, there are no limits. I like to have freedom. Metallic makeup does that. – Tom Pecheux, Creative Makeup Director, Estee Lauder
Here are six of the eight new nail shades for fall, all in a metallic finish. There are a lot of crazy nail trends happening this fall – long pointy nails, artistic nails that are so amazing some of them you would think belong in an art gallery, but I’m sticking with my short, one color, no art nails, thank you. I’ve always been a cream nail person with no shimmer or sparkles, however, I may just migrate to the metallic territory as it’s everywhere this season. It’s actually quite wearable and I love these rich fall tones. My favorite of these shades for my fingers is the Chocolate Foil and Steel Orchid, and Rose Gold is gorgeous, too.
The Estee Lauder nail polishes have amazing coverage – this is only one coat!
I’d love to hear what women over 40 think of all the nail trends. Will you wear the nail art or stick to something like these beautiful metallics?
Estee Lauder Fall 2013 collection is available now at counters, and is a limited edition. The nail polishes sell for $20 ea.

I’ll do the metallic trend, but the pointy nails and extravagant art can stay in the editorials and on the runway.
I doubt I would wear these on my hands. I just dont want to call any attention to them at this point besides “well grroomed”! I did finally break down and have been wearing a similar color to the navy metallic on my toes and have had some fun with that. They are also surprisingly neutral.

That is my kind of colors and I would gladly wear them all and even put some rhines and studs on top.
