I find it quite ironic that the same day I am given this great information from Good Housekeeping magazine, products that actually work,  I also receive an email about mother-daughter plastic surgery from another source!   I seriously get turned off when I hear about things like mother-daughter plastic surgery.   I truly can’t fathom something like that, it’s just not on my radar!   I’d much rather stick to prevention and finding products that actually work.

Well, Good Housekeeping has done a lot of that work for us!  In the October issue – due out on newsstands Sept. 14th, they have a list of their winners in the First Annual Anti-Aging Awards.   There were 90 products in 12 categories that were tested by 820 volunteers 35 and older over an 18 month period.  3,000 lab tests and 5,600 before and after photos were taken, too.  This isn’t just a “pretty packaging” contest – there’s real substance behind this one!

“Anti-aging claims are everywhere, and it’s frustrating to buy a product – often an expensive one – and find that it doesn’t perform,” says Rosemary Ellis, editor-in-chief of Good Housekeeping.  “We weren’t sure if anything we tested would really work—but some did, and the best performers weren’t always the most expensive ones.” Ellis points out, “In the Good Housekeeping Research Institute, we have the in-house ability to evaluate products based on science and experimentation. So we can make recommendations our readers can really trust.”
