It may be early August, but the transition to fall has begun. The stores have put on clearance all summer and the transitional and fall clothing are appearing everywhere. The same goes with beauty – out with the summer collections and in with the transitional and fall beauty.  So what are my beauty transitions must-haves?  Here are a few of my favorites that work late summer and into fall.

Tom Ford Cognac Sable

Tom Ford eye shadow quad in Cognac Sable. The shades have been around awhile and are not new to his collection, but one of my must-haves. This was once touted as a “Must have for olive toned skin”. Well, I don’t have olive skin – far from it, but it works well with my skin tone.

The shades work well for transitioning into fall .  Below I am wearing the shades – the Golden cream (top left shade) all over, the brown shimmer on the lid (bottom left shade), and I ran a soft line along the bottom lashes.  I then tapped a tiny bit of the bronze shimmer (top right shade) toward the inner corner and lid and then I lined my eyes with a CoverGirl Vivid Impact black eye liner and topped it and softened it out with the charcoal brown (bottom right) shade to soften the line.  I topped my lashes with Benefit’s They’re Real! mascara.

For lips, my beauty transition go-to is going to be the new Laura Mercier Rouge Nouveau Weightless Lip Color – and I like the shade Café for an everyday transition look.

Laura Mercier Cafe

These are new to the Laura Mercier beauty line (permanent, not seasonal) and are 100% wax free and come in 3 types of coverage – Sheer, Matte and Creme.  I prefer the sheer and creme coverage and my favorite shade for fall is this Café (shown above and below).

It adds enough color to my lips, yet it’s transitioning away from the hot corals and pinks from the summer looks.  It’s a good every day look for hardly wearing makeup or if I want to go bold with my eyes, it won’t compete with the boldness.

Dior Nail

For my nails, I’ve worn the last of the hot pinks and corals on my hands and toes and am now transitioning to fall.  I’m not a fan of a lot of the nail trends going on now – long, pointy long, artistic designs and appliques – none of those are me. However, I will wear some fun shades. In fact, I am wondering why I even have a hankering for the Dior metallic nail enamel in Galaxie because it is metallic, but I do. A strong one. I love this shade and maybe the metallic makes me feel it’s not so deep into fall yet. I also love the Chanel shade Mysterious for early fall. It’s what I call a mud-green shade and I love it. It’s my dirty pop of color for the season.
