I think we’ve all come to the realization that BB creams are a great staple to have in your makeup bag. They’re like an amped up version of a tinted moisturizer, offering skincare benefits as well as SPF and some type of coverage to the skin. But not all BB Creams are created equal and in the Dr. Jart+ lineup of BB creams that is very evident with the offering of 4 different BB Creams. I had really only been familiar with the Water Fuse version, the one in the blue tube and hadn’t realized there were more versions. Here’s the difference between the four Dr. Jart+ BB Creams:
Water Fuse – the one on the blue tube. This has Dr. Jart+’s Advanced Water Based Technology. When applying there are tiny droplets of water that appear and are quickly absorbed giving the skin an instant soothing and cooling effect. This is for those that need more help with hydration in their skin and leaves it dewy and fresh. It has SPF 25
Premium – the one in the gold tube. This one contains SPF 45, the highest SPF formula of them all. It has antioxidant bio-peptides and adenosine which work to protect the skin from harsh environmental factors, improve elasticity, and brightens the skin and has anti-aging benefits.
Black Label – This one contains SPF 25. This one offers the most coverage of the four. It covers blemishes and evens the skin tone. It has botanical active to purify and calm blemished or irritated skin. It also has arbutin to help with dark spots and caviar extract and antioxidants to protect the skin from inner and outer pollutants.
Renewalist – in the red tube. This one contains SPF 40 and is formulated to retain moisture using MHA (moisture holding agent) technology. Babassu butter and olive oil provide moisture and sebum control. From reviews I’ve read this one seems to be the favorite to those who comment.
As you can see above, I am pretty fair skinned. While the image may be blurry on the left, you can still see that the Water Fuse BB Cream blends into my skintone the best and is my favorite of the four. The Premium and Black Label both have a pinkish cast to them that does not blend well with my skintone. The Renewalist has a lighter cast to it, but I really like the feel and formula of this one. I add a little bronzer to my face allover and that helps to blend it in more naturally.
Overall, I like the options that are available in this line of BB Creams. However, I do wish more shades were available. This Original BB Set allows you to get all four BB Creams in a .5 fl oz size which is perfect for testing them out. They are also great for travel or the gym bag!
PR sample was received for consideration of review. All results and opinions are my own.
I would love to try the Black Label and the Renewalist one!
