As you may know, I am a big proponent of practicing safe sun, which can mean I look pasty in the summer. But I admit it, I don’t like looking pasty necessarily, I feel I do look a little healthier with some summer color. I think I’m in the majority there. But, I still refuse to spend time outside with out my sunscreen so it means my summer color has to come from a bottle. In this case, Hampton Sun Sunless Tanning Gel.
I have read a few places where Tim Quinn, makeup artist extraordinaire for Giorgio Armani has touted his love of Hampton Sun, so when I had the opportunity to give it a try myself, I jumped at it. If Tim says it’s good, I believe him it’s good. And of course he is right.
Besides the natural, gradual tan this gives the skin I like it for a few other reasons too. I like that you can use it on your body and on the face. It wasn’t irritating to my skin and I didn’t have to get a separate special “face only” product. I also like that it doesn’t have a strong scent to it. There is a slight scent, but barely there. Unlike some self-tanners where you can detect a person about 10 feet away who is wearing self-tanner, this scent is not strong and it disappears quite quickly. This is also buildable, and realistic looking without that orange cast to the skin.
OK, be forewarned, I am going to show you my legs. I have the worlds ugliest legs, there’s no denying it.
Well, I obviously don’t need to tell you which leg has the Hampton Sun Sunless Tanning Gel and which leg doesn’t. This is just after one application that I put on at night and woke up to this. Leave it dry for a few minutes before covering with clothing and be careful around the hairline if using on your face. But other than that, it’s easy-peasy to use. Maybe if I put another layer on it might make my legs look a bit more human.
Because I like this so well, I know I won’t be scaring people off with my pasty white skin this summer. And it makes me want to look into their whole line of products which includes a variety of sunscreens, after sun care and bronzer.

Thanks for sharing your review of this product. I also am a big advocate for protecting your skin from the harshness of the sun. If you can still get a similar effect from a beauty product and avoid the life-long damage from too much sun exposure, then it seems like a good choice.
