Are you like me and your skin has issues with silicone primers and other silicone products? I can only wear them for a bit and then I start breaking out from them. But I love how a primer can make the skin look flawless, especially if visible pores and fine lines are an issue.  And then there’s that other issue – oily skin.  I hear form other people that it’s a blessing – it keeps your skin youthful looking, but when makeup slides off the face and your face looks like it’s been spritzed with oil, you tend to not want to hear those comments about how “lucky” you are that you have oily skin.

BECCA Cosmetics may have an answer for you! It’s their new Ever-Matte Poreless Priming Perfector. It’s silicone free (yay!) and minimizes pores and mattifies without giving the skin a pasty dry look.  It also does not contain oil, alcohol, fragrance or parabens. So how does it work?  When I first squeezed a bit on my fingers I felt the texture reminded me of a silicone-type primer. Almost that gel-like feel. Then when I spread it on my skin it at first had a wet texture but within seconds it dries down to a soft mattified look and feel. It really doesn’t feel like anything is on the skin so there’s no weighted feel to it and it instantly made my pores less visible and the oil on my skin seemed to disappear.  It says it lasts for up to 8 hours, but it didn’t last that long on my skin, which honestly I don’t expect anything to last on my skin that long!  The BECCA artists recommend that you warm the primer in your hands and apply it OVER makeup in targeted areas that are excessively oil. Great tip.
