One of my favorite pastimes is going to movies and I get a little giddy when holiday season begins and the holiday movies start.  This weekend is one movie that I have on my must-see list – Love the Coopers.  We all have that person in our family (and maybe it’s you!) who wants everyone in the family to be together for the holidays at all costs and everyone must be happy. Idealistic, right? Well, that’s what Charlotte Cooper, played by Diane Keaton, wants for her family – a time that they’re all together having the perfect Christmas. Love The Coopers follows The Cooper clan as four generations of extended family come together for their annual Christmas Eve celebration. As the evening unfolds, a series of unexpected visitors and unlikely events turn the night upside down, leading them all toward a surprising rediscovery of family bonds and the spirit of the holiday.

Do you have a great family holiday story? I’d love to hear it! I’ll never forget the time when there was a snowstorm and most of my siblings and I were stuck in town but my dad insisted that we all get out to the farm for Christmas to be together, no ifs ands or buts about it! Well, he had the brilliant idea of bringing his tractor with a snowplow attached 6 miles into town to get us all home for Christmas! Honestly, we had a great time that Christmas and 20+ years later we still laugh about it.

    I remember when my papaw was the postmaster to our town and he went out in a Santa suit and finished delivering packages so the people would have them just in time!

    I can’t wait to see this movie. I remember one Christmas my husband gave my Dad’s new wife and my Dad a haircut with the Flowbie. You hook it up to the vacuum. We are still laughing about that… They had to go home and get there hair cut by a stylist…

    Our funny Christmas story from many years ago, was when we went outside to put the carrots out for Rudolph as always, and while nobody was looking, he threw them up on the snow and ice covered roof so Rudolph would not have to come down to get them! UGH. Thankful to say…..Rudolph did eat his carrots that night…and no ambulances were needed 🙂

    We still laugh about it today!
