Every time I see this product I think of the David Bowie song, and don’t ask me why, because I haven’t a clue. I recently discovered this hairspray when I got my hair cut, it’s Air Control by Aveda. Typically I have a love/hate relationship with Aveda products. I love the scents, but after a few days in a row of using the products, my scalp hates them. I get red and irritated on my sensitive skin. Not with this. It’s a unique hairspray in the fact that if I held my hair straight out and sprayed, this would keep it in place with absolutely no stickiness. Nada. It’s as light as air, but holds your hair in place, and allows movement at the same time, if that makes sense. I love the fact that it has net zero impact on the Earth’s climate and yet it’s a product that works with immediate results.

I know this Shaper or Shaper Plus is a cult favorite, but unless you have super fine-flyaway hair this hairspray can give you nothing but helmet head. On those super humid days, I’ve been known to give in to this with my fine hair, but that is the only exception. That and using it for a “must -stay-put-like-glue-updo” I’m not sure why in 2008 anyone would want their hair crunch if you touched it. So 1980. Besides, I feel like when I use this I have just cut one year of lung capacity out of my life. But hey, it’s only my opinion.
