I’m a huge Target fan and especially since they are from my home state of MN – we all seem to really love Target here. Now there’s another reason to love them even more; their new Beauty Concierge service at 200 Target stores around the country. It’s a brilliant idea, because lets face it when beauty shopping at non-department stores where you can’t dip, apply, put-on and feel the product, it can be more difficult to purchase at times. Now with the Beauty Concierge there’s someone at the Target beauty department to help you out!

I recently had the opportunity to meet with Target PR and Falina, one of the Beauty Concierge at a local Target store that has the service, to find out more about it. I walked away more impressed than I have been for a long time. Falina, her knowledge of beauty products at Target and the whole concept blew me away! The Beauty Concierge are highly trained and educated on all the products, from skincare, makeup, hair care, body care, beauty tools, hair tools, hair coloring and more. While I was meeting with Falina learning about the program I got to see her work first hand helping Target customers with several questions as they wandered the beauty department.
From moms, to teens to the over 40 group, she has answers for all their questions. Looking for a skin treatment that’s comparable to Lancome’s Genifique? She has the answer. Looking for a primer? She asks all the questions to direct you in the right way to find the perfect primer for your needs. Baffled by what home hair color kit to use? She again asks many questions to get you the right product from type to the right color. Is your daughter just starting out wearing makeup? The Beauty Concierge can get you started out with the right products. Need to find a foundation but don’t know how to find the right shade or texture? The Beauty Concierge know foundations, ones that compare to expensive department stores and helps to match you perfectly. Falina even told me that she recently had a bride-to-be coming in looking for makeup and she recommended not only products, but suggested a You Tube video to watch for bridal applications. The Beauty Concierge also carries an iPad in store in order to look up product information.
Target recently started carrying La Roche Posay products at select stores (one of my favorite skincare brands) and she told me that the NYX line is a great dupe for MAC or Nars and is a hot line with makeup artists. Some of the hot beauty products and trends – matte lips and nails. Plums, greens and natural tones are big for fall. Everyone wants to know how to do a winged eyeliner, CoverGirl Clump Crusher mascara is a favorite, lip stains are requested a lot, Sonia Kashuk primer is a big hit. Customers compare NP foundations to Lancome, Pixie has a lip product like Dior’s Lip Glow, Botanics clay mask is amazing at $8 vs department store brand at $35. Protecting the hair from hot appliances is a must and she likes TRESemme Thermal Creations Heat Tamer Spray. I could go on and on, but you get the idea.
Look for the sign Beauty Concierge (shown above) to see if your Target has this service available. Be sure to check posted times at your store as well, as they vary depending on when your store is busiest.

I’ve seen the signs, now I know what to expect. Looks like a cool job to have.
Sounds like a great idea for those lucky enough to have a large Target to shop at. For many of us, Target puts in these tiny stores with barely four aisles of beauty products. I suspect- but I’m not certain- that my local Target will offer no such service. Wish I lived closer to your kind of Target- I’d love the extra beauty help!
I have already used this service at the Roseville, MN location and it’s great! Collette was wonderful and suggested just the right products. I would definitely recommend this service to everyone.
