I like a good bar of soap.  I don’t always use body washes as sometimes I am a plain and simple soap girl.    My husband can be more picky than me when it comes to soap.   They can’t have too many grainy things in them like chunks of lavender or wheat or what have you.  His other requirements are they have to smell nice, make your skin soft, fit into your hand nicely and last but not least, he says they cannot cost a fortune.

Several months ago while flipping through the pages of the Sunday newspaper ads I came across a Yardley soap sale ad at Walgreens.   They were normally sold for $1.49 and were on sale for .69¢ The scent choices sounded lovely and for the price I figured big whoop if he didn’t like them and ended up throwin them away.

The scents available are:

  • Classic English Lavender
  • Honeysuckle Citrus
  • Fresh Aloe
  • Oatmeal and Almond
  • Lemon Verbena with Shea Butter

I chose the Lavender, Aloe and Oatmeal & Almond to try.   At first hubby was hesitant about the Oatmeal and Almond because it is slightly grainy.   Personally, I really like that it had slight graininess to it and not chunky pieces.   All three bars were a success!   They’ve been the only brand of soap we’ve used in our shower for months.   Oh, I try sneaking a new one in every once and awhile, but we always go back to Yardley.   In fact, they’re on sale again at Walgreens this week.   I may switch it up and add the Lemon Verbena and Honeysuckle Citrus to the rotation.

For either $1.49 or .69¢ – both prices are definitely Beauty on a Budget!
