SK-II

A person can look at this item as two-fold. A beautiful gift for the holidays and one that will do your skin some good during all the hustle and bustle of the holidays.  I’m talking about SK-II Facial Treatment Essence. I’ve used this in the past and loved how it made my skin look and feel and then I ran out and always intended the next time I was in NYC to pick some up as we don’t have the brand here in Minneapolis.  Well, sadly it’s been awhile since I’ve been to NYC and I keep forgetting to buy online.  Either way, it’s nice to have this back in my beauty regimen.

Facial Treatment Essence, a favorite of Cate Blanchett, and who doesn’t drool over her skin, is made with over 90% Pitera. It’s the ingredient that was discovered in the fermentation process of sake and it was noticed how soft the hands had become of those working with the ingredient. It refines the texture of the skin and evens out the tone and it gently exfoliates. The exfoliation isn’t like a harsh scrub, this is used after cleansing by either applying some in your hands and splashing on your face or by soaking a cotton pad. I prefer the latter, I don’t feel like I’m wasting it that way.  Next apply your serum and then moisturizer. This can be used day and night and is very gentle to the skin.

For the holidays SK-II had Tawainese artist Po Chih Huang to create the beautiful artwork on these limited edition bottles of Facial Treatment Essence. There are 3 different ones – the one shown above is the tulips and there is also yellow freesias and purple hydrangeas. Each piece of art represents a facet of beauty.

SK-II Facial Treatment Essence

  • Red Tulips – a reflection of the passionate sensuality of a woman
  • Yellow Freesia – a woman’s elegance and intelligence
  • Purple Hydrangeas – a woman with substance, inner strength and compassion
