Many adults suffer from acne, which as a teen it is difficult enough, but as an adult I am sure it can be even more frustrating.   SensiClear was created to help adult acne issues and to get your skin back to its natural radiance.

SensiClear asked me if I wanted to try the line, but since I do not have adult acne I declined for myself.  But, I did get someone who does have adult acne want to test it for me.  Here is what my tester Jill had to say:

I started using SensiClear Tuesday evening, 10/5/09.  When I began using this, I already had a terrible breakout on my chin.  I had at least 10 pimples on my chin as well as on the left side of my neck.  I am skeptically optimistic because I have tried ProActive and Arbonne products and have seen some improvement initially and then my skin gets too dry.

Some of my first impressions were:

  • Pleasant scent
  • Had difficulty removing the silver tampering tab off of 2 out of the 3 bottles (would recommend a larger tab to pull on).  One of the tabs ripped off so I had to try to pry the silver covering off with a tweezers – couldn’t get it all off
  • Easy to use, good directions

Wednesday a.m. I woke up and there were several whiteheads on my chin which I believe means that SensiClear is cleaning out my pores.  I used it again in the morning and didn’t feel dry.  That day at work, more whiteheads formed.

Thursday, I noticed that most of my pimples were drying up and healing.  They were no longer deep & painful.  By Friday, my chin is getting dry ~ but the pimples are still clearing up.  Saturday, my forehead is getting dry too ~ am wondering if I need to back off to using this 1/day as well as use some moisturizer.

My skin was so dry that I haven’t used SensiClear since Sunday, Oct 11th.  This was not the product for me.  It definitely worked to get rid of the acne, but was too harsh, too drying.

I asked SensiClear what they would recommend for this, as I have heard this a lot from people suffering from acne and trying various acne products, and even dermatologists will say this will happen to some degree.   Here is what they have to say for her dry skin:

How often should I use SensiClear?

We recommend using SensiClear Purifying Cleanser and Balancing Toner twice daily (once in the morning and once at night) and the Blemish-Free Acne Treatment Lotion once daily at night to start. The Acne Spot Treatment Cream can be used once daily to start, use only on active blemishes. Remember, everyone’s skin is different, some people may only need to use the SensiClear system once a day while others may find the best results by using the system up to three times per day. Start the program by using as directed, and adjust as needed. Wet skin with tepid or lukewarm water. Squeeze a pea size amount of cleanser onto fingertips. Massage gently onto face to produce lather. Rinse thoroughly and pat dry. Repeat morning and night or up to three times daily as needed.

Step 2: Balancing Toner
Squeeze a small amount of the Balancing Toner onto a cotton ball or pad. Apply moderately to your face, neck or any other acne affected areas. Allow Toner to dry. Use twice daily with Blemish-Free Acne Treatment Lotion or as needed.

Step 3: Blemish-Free Acne Treatment Lotion
Apply to face, neck, back and other blemish prone areas. Do not rinse off lotion. Start with one application daily. Increase application to 2 times a day (once in the morning and once at night) or use up to 3 times daily if needed.

The Acne Spot Treatment Cream is recommended for use only to spot treat active blemishes.

To the best of my knowledge I do not believe my tester tried this suggestion.  I would love to know if any of my readers with acne have had drying issues and what they have done to solve them.  As I say with any product – what works for one person may not work for another and vice versa.
