Recently I’ve been testing a few products from the BeautyRx Skincare by Dr. Schultz which include two different types of exfoliants and an eye cream. I have to say, I am quite impressed!
First of all – who is Dr. Neal Schultz? He is a NYC-based dermatologist with a thriving Upper East Side practice on Park Avenue. In addition to his 30+ years of experience,Dr. Schultz’s astounding credentials include: a Clinical Professor at Mt. Sinai, the SVP and Clinical Director of Milbar Labs (Milbar is the company that makes many of the dermatologist lines), the founder of the first daily internet skincare show DermTV.com, and creator of his own line of skincare products – BeautyRx. So he’s no fly-by-night creator of skincare, nor did he just slap his name on some product. No, he stands behind what he practices and has for years. That’s a big reason to have a trust in him and Beauty Rx.
So about some of these products I’ve been testing for several weeks, well let me tell you first about the first time I had a glycolic peel treatment. It was just recently I went to a spa and had the glycolic treatment. My first reaction was YEOWZA! It stung! But, once I got past the initial sting, I did feel and seem some pretty immediate results. Now I can take that type of exfoliating treatment home and well, let’s just say the BeautyRx Advanced Exfoliating Therapy Pads are very effective without quite so much yeowza involved. Take one thin pad and swipe it across a clean face and leave it sit for 15 minutes or as recommended by your physician. You will feel it – but it certainly wasn’t quite as stinging on me. Rinse it off with warm water and the skin feels baby soft. Over time the results they claim are brighter, younger and more lustrous as the sings of sun damage and aging are further diminished. Use this a few times a week.
Another piece from the BeautyRx line I’ve been using is the Refining Pore Treatment. UPDATE: Now available online instead of just at clinic. Unfortunately it’s not showing up on their website yet to show you the product, but it comes in a tube and is a creamy texture with granules in it. It’s both a physical exfoliant and a chemical one too. This works great to exfoliate and remove the gunk from clogged pores – which enlarges them and works on dull, flaky skin. So for people with oily skin like me who tend to have larger pores, you may love this as much as I do! This works easily by massaging it in and leaving it on for only 10-20 seconds and then rinsing off. I started off using this in the morning, then I switched to after I shower, after reading their recommendation on doing it that way. Your pores are more opened after steaming in the shower and this works more effectively that way.
Don’t use these products on the same day – it will be too much for most skin. Both of these exfoliate the skin and have the BeautyRx compound Tetrafoliant – their proprietary compound of four reciprocally enabling exfoliating ingredients that are pH-adjusted and bufffered for optimal effectiveness.
And last but not least, the Ultra Nourishing Eye Therapy Cream. Well, let’s face it – at my age the wrinkles aren’t going to go fully away, but making them appear less pronounced and the skin around my eye more firm that what it had been is definitely a major plus, which is what I get with this eye cream. It’s very moisturizing, non-irritating to me and I like the results I’ve seen so far.
