Eight skincare

Eight Skincare are bath and body products named after the 8 core ingredients, all so good for the skin.  The line includes a Dry Skin Body Brush, Creme Body Wash, Sugar Body Scrub and Body Moisturizer. They also come in three scents – Tangering, Lavender and Ginger Lime. What piqued my interest in the line are the 8 core ingredients:

  1. Aloe Vera – healing and hydrating
  2. Argan Oil – promotes healthy skin turnover with antioxidants
  3. Monoi Oil – derived from gardenia and coconut to deliver long-lasting hydration
  4. Evening Primrose Oil – soothes and softens for extra smooth skin
  5. Vitamin E Oil – anti-oxidant power for fighting the signs of aging skin
  6. Jojoba Oil – mimics skin’s own natural moisture layer without an oily residue
  7. Avocado Oil – rich in humectants that attract moisture to the skin
  8. Apricot Kernel Oil – lightly textured and penetrates the skin easily

Doesn’t that just sound luscious?!  Well, let me tell you it is!  I’ve been using the Lavender Body Moisture and not only love the scent, but how it feels on my skin.  It absorbs quickly and yet hours and hours later (next morning even) my skin still feels incredibly soft. It feels like it has a soft, protective layer on it. Even after shaving my legs and applying the Body Moisture I was quite surprised at how great my legs still felt the next day.

Eight Skincare was created by Vicki Weaver-Payne, but her mother was the true inspiration for the skincare line.  Her mother worked in the airplane factory in the 40’s and her skin was very dry and began experimenting with ingredients to create a lotion that would soften her skin. It not only worked for her, but became popular with the other factory workers.  Years later, Vicki shared her own dry skin story with her mother and her mother shared her story of the lotion she created years prior. Needless to say, the rest is history. Vicki worked on perfecting the formulas and came up with Eight Skincare.  I love that story!

While I’ve not had a dry body scrub done in a few years, I loved how my skin felt afterwards and this now has me inspired to give the rest of the products a try, especially with how much I love the Body Moisture.  Overall, I’d highly recommend.  Eight Skincare is available online and prices range from $11 – $24, so it’s quite affordable, too.
