To say I have been neglecting my skin over the last six weeks would not be an exaggeration.   I don’t think I’ve ever neglected it like I have as of recent.  A few weeks ago I woke up to the realization that how quickly it begins to show when we don’t have the time nor the desire to take care of ourselves.  Even more so when we’re not 20 or even 30 any longer, we can appear aged all the more suddenly and dramatically.

When I finally realized I can’t go on like I had and I needed to feel better about myself and my skin I needed something that would work fast and efficiently.   Off to the beauty closet (or beauty room as Mr. Fab calls it) to see what I had that would work like I needed it to.  There were two different products that stood out, hoping they would give me that boost I craved.   Erno Laszlo Transphuse Age Defying Mask (above) and Brazillian Peel (below).

On day one I grabbed the Erno Laszlo Transphuse Age Defying Mask.   It says it saturates skin with moisturize and more importantly what I needed was for it to rejuvenate tired, dull skin.  Bingo!  My skin was dull and lifeless and 15 minutes with the mask on (it says 5-10, but I figured 15 couldn’t hurt) my skin did feel and look more plump and more moisturized than it had in a long time.   I felt like I was back on the road to redeeming my once happy skin.  This contains Glycosaminoglycans (try saying that 3 times!)to encourage collagen production, making the skin appear more plumped.   Erno Laszlo products have never let me down and this is another one to add to the ever-impressive list.

But, of course I didn’t want to stop there.   I gave my skin a few days rest from treatments to make sure I didn’t have any unusual reactions and I didn’t.  So now I wanted to try the Brazillian Peel.   Why is it that everything we Americans use to make us feel better about ourselves has the word “Brazillian” in it?   Brazillian wax, Brazillian hair straightening and now the Brazillian Peel for our faces.  To be honest, I was a bit skeptical about the “gentleness” it claims when the other Brazillians seem so harsh.

Brazillian Peel by Antidote for Aging is a professional strength glycolic peel that is self-neutralizing to prevent irritation.  It comes in a syringe looking applicator with two products in the one syringe.   On one side is the peel the other is the neutralizer and you “inject” them both together into your hand and mix and apply a layer to your face.  A warming sensation is felt on the face, but that quickly disappeared.   It says that it doesn’t leave your skin irritated or red and it did neither of those to my sensitive skin.  Afterwards my face felt tingly (in a good way) smooth.   Brazillian Peel can be used once a week for 4 weeks to smooth, brighten and firm the skin.

A few weeks later my skin is on the right road for recovery.  Now if I could only find that magical way to have more hours in the day till life settles down a bit!
