I have quickly become a fan of the Olivia Palermo lipsticks for Ciate London. These lipsticks are long lasting in color, super creamy and made with hyaluronic acid and pure pigment. To be honest, I was expecting a medium quality product for some reason that I can’t explain. I was highly impressed with the quality of not only the lipstick themselves but also the packaging. I shouldn’t have been surprised though, because I love the nail polish, too!
Right off the bat I knew that the shade Praline (3rd from left) was going to be my instant favorite and it is. It’s one of those shades that you will reach for all the time if you want a quick polished look. But the shade that really surprised me and I’m wearing much more often than I thought I would is Velveteen (far left). Honestly I like red lips, I just have a difficult time wearing a red lip. But this red is a little deeper and instead of swiping it on in full color, I tap it on and rub my lips together to get the perfect shade! Even applying the lipstick in this manner I still get great lasting coverage.
When I want a nude lip the shade Truffle works better for me – and it works best if used with a lip liner that has a hint of pink. If I just wear it plain on it’s borderline too bland for my skin tone, even though it has a slight pink tone to it. While I love the shade Cashmere, the lightest of the 4 shades, it’s not one I can wear with my skin tone. Someone with a darker skin tone could probably pull this one off better than me. It really washes me out.
Shades from the bottom to top are: Velveteen, Praline, Cashmere, Truffle. Overall, I’d rate these lipsticks a 10! They are quality all around. These shades are limited edition and available at Sephora.
