Smashbox – Wicked Lovely
Beauty |

Tell me, which one are you? Is it the rocker sister vs. the good girl? The party bad arse vs. the angelic book worm? You can pick your look with Wicked Lovely, the new fall collection by Smashbox.
On the left is the Wicked look, a smokey eye, intense liner, flush cheek and neutral lip. On the right is Lovely, in a soft neutral eye with a medium lower lash color, flush cheek and again neutral lip.
These are great looks for evening and day, adventurous or reserved, daring or subtle. Every time I think of this collection I want to use dissimilar words. But let me describe some of the product.
First off the most fabulous thing in the collection is the Wicked Lovely Cream Liner and Loose Shimmer. I think this is one of the best cosmetic packaging out there in all the new fall collections I have seen so far. On the top of the jar are three creamy liners in mocha brown, copper bronze, and charcoal blue shades with a mirror built into the lid. Twist off the top and underneath a silvery charcoal shimmer is revealed. Now it looks super glitter/shimmery in the jar, but when you blend it in, it doesn’t seem glittery at all – just a nice shimmer. I love this little jar of eye candy!
Also in the collection used for the Lovely look is the Eye Shadow Duo in Sexy/Demure, which is shimmery peach and brown and Sinful/Demure which is a shimmery ivory and charcoal combination. Of all the new products, these probably wowed me the least. The colors didn’t seem like anything new that they haven’t had before. But they are a nice duo if you want simplicity and ease of use.
The Double Take Lip Color is a great chunky pencil that has lip liner on one end and lip color on the other. Again a package of super convenience. It’s packed with vitamins to keep your lips moist and luscious. Top off your lip color with 2 neutral or one sinfully pretty black cherry colored lip glosses.
Finish off your beautiful face with Blush Rush . It is a soft warm pink color that feels almost moisturizing for a powder. The compact is fabulous with a swivel out mirror.
Now I hope I’ve helped you decide which one you are – Wicked or Lovely.
Love it!
Kari
No offense, but none of these models looks “over forty”! Can we still pull if off?

Hi Lydia,
Unfortunately the cosmetics companies must not think anyone over the age of about 32 buys cosmetics and therefore you will never see a model over that age – with the exception of L’Oreal using Andie McDowell and Diane Keaton for skincare. But lets not get me started down that route…
Yes, many of these colors are wearable, although most of the Chanel collection was too youthful, the Prescriptives is not too youthful – in fact I’m wearing the palette today. Smashbox Wicked look may be shown as a bit “severe” for someone over 40, but the colors are wearable in a toned down way. Experiment a little – there’s nothing wrong with a woman over 40 doing a smokey eye – you just might not want to wear the dog collar necklace with it!
I will take your advice and experiment as I’m “barely” over 40! Ha ha!
