Kat Burki products

It truly is easier now than ever before to go green with your beauty and skincare products. Just in the last six years since I’ve started Fab Over Forty I can’t believe the transformation of products that have gone from highly processed and chemical laden to natural. The best thing is that the natural products keep getting better and better! Kat Burki is a fabulous “green” line of products that fits into that category of wonderful natural products.

I recently had the opportunity to try out several of the Kat Burki products that were sent from PR for testing. Timing for trying out some of these couldn’t have come at a better time. I was traveling recently for work and so glad I was able to put a few of these skincare products in my bag. The Kat Burki Glossy Lip Treatment and Hand Therapy have become my go-to products, especially when I was traveling. Airplanes are so terribly drying and my lips and hands suffer the most on the plane. I can slather my face with moisturizer before I leave on a flight and my skin usually will be OK, but the same cannot be said for lips and hands.

The Glossy Lip Treatment is very cool. Or should I say cooling.  There’s a ceramic rollerball tip that rolls out the product and leaves your lips very moisturized without any stickiness.  It’s made with organic coconut oil, organic beeswax and cinnamon essential oil to plump and smooth. I like how the tube end twists to lock and close so product doesn’t leak out. This feels incredible on the lips and for as drying as airplanes are, this saved my lips. The Hand Therapy is another product that I really like because it moisturizes and I have to say it is one of the least greasy or slick hand lotions I have ever used.  A big plus!  It’s made with palm, sunflower and safflower seed oils to lock in moisture and protect and it also has a blend of organic herbs like calendula and chamomile to soothe and replenish hydration.  This isn’t heavily scented, so those that are sensitive to scent this really wouldn’t be a problem either.

After showers I’ve been using the Body Butter all over. One thing I immediately noticed is that this too is not greasy or slick feeling on the skin at all. It absorbs very quickly and leaves my skin very soft. It’s made to repair and restore skin’s elasticity and hydrate with cold pressed vitamin enriched rose hip and tamanu oils. This too has an organic herb blend of gotu kola, arnica, calendula lavender and chamomile, and it also has cocoa butter. It’s light weight and not like a heavy body butter.

Looking for luxury? How about a beautiful gift? This is perfect! The Signature Body Creme comes in 4 scents – Tuberose, Freesia & Pink Grapefruit, Rosa Baroque and Sugar Magnolia. I tested the Tuberose scent and like how it stays with you for a long, long time. You might not want to wear it all over as the scent could be too much with it all over. But for summer and baring shoulders, or dry spots like knees and arms used gently is perfect! This too is super creamy and light and in comparison to the Body Butter I might say these feel a bit more moisturizing, but the fragrance of the Signature Body Creme makes it more “special”.  The packaging of the Signature Body Creme is gorgeous and that alone makes it a wonderful looking gift that the receiver would surely love!
