Women over 40 beauty, Skincare, Fashion, Fitness and Lifestyle

iphoneI get all kinds of emails every day for more products and services imaginable.   I try and pass on to you things I think would be of interest to you and that pertain to women over 40.    Countless articles about various plastic surgery procedures have crossed my desk, and since I’ve not had any, and really want women to think about options for their skin before they decide the surgery route, I really don’t bring much up about these procedures.

But this one I received the other day caught me as rather disturbing.    It’s an app for your iPhone by Dr. Michael Salzhauer called iSurgeon.  Here’s what they say:

It seems like everyday brings a new iPhone App, but never has the world seen something quite like this.  Dr. Michael Salzhauer, author of “My Beautiful Mommy,” a children’s book explaining the phases of plastic surgery, introduces iSurgeon.

iSurgeon is an innovative App that combines personal image modification with high tech gaming features.  According to Dr. Salzhauer, “iSurgeon serves a dual purpose, offering those interested in cosmetic surgery treatments a clear visual of what they would look like post-surgery, while also providing a fun entertaining game tool that allows the user to play the role of a plastic surgeon.”

To be honest, I personally don’t know if the iSurgery app is more disturbing or the fact that there’s a CHILDREN’S book that explains the phases of mommy’s plastic surgery!

I’m sorry, but I do not get this at all!  I find it all rather frightening that if you consider plastic surgery that you would rely on a “high tech gaming feature” to help you distinguish what your new looks will be like.

Seriously, if you are ever considering getting plastic surgery, do not rely on your iPhone App.   Consult a board certified surgeon and discuss all the options, risks and rewards – in person.  Not with some Avatar-like wizardry.

What do you think about this?  I would love to hear your opinons.
