spring renn model (720x720)

New 2014 Spring Collections are popping up at the counters and as expected, pinks and corals and pastels in general so far seem to be the “it” shades of the season. Some of them I like and others, not so much. Laura Mercier 2014 Spring Collection Spring Renaissance is one I can get behind. It’s not so pastel that it loses its sophistication.
Enlightment Eye & Cheek Palette

The palette above, Enlightenment eye and cheek palette is a limited edition palette available for $55, which the price surprised me, I thought it was going to be priced more around the $65 -$70 range.  The compact/case is very nice and it’s a versatile palette that would actually work great with many skin tones from fair to medium skin tones, darker skin tones it may be a bit more difficult to pull off, but a few of the shades may work.  I wanted to take photos of the palette in person, but the woman at the counter wouldn’t let me, even after explaining what they were for. Oh well, I will try and do my best to explain the shades from memory.

All the shades are in the palette are new, so no re-promotes on this.  The shadows are shimmering shades and the four include Angelic a nude/cream, Innocence a pink, Pure Glow a rosy/gold/taupe – the shade is hard to describe and much more beautiful in person than shown here and hopefully will become a permanent shade in the future. Lastly is Grace, a silvery/graphite shade.  The two blushes that flank the palette are Awakening and Blushing.  Blushing is obviously the shade that is going to give you a pop of color on the cheeks and Awakening is great for a more natural tone or using it even as a highlighter in areas.

Creme Cheek Colours

They are promoting the cream blushes with this collection and these are both re-promotes from the permanent collection. The shades are Praline and Sunrise.

Rouge Nouveau lip Colours

The Rouge Nouveau lip sticks have two new shades that are limited edition for spring.  Play and Pure are the shades shown above. These lipsticks are great as they are 100% wax free, long lasting and hydrating.

Creme Eye liners and brush

I’m a big fan of cream eye liners and the Espresso shade and the brush are re-promotes with the collection and the Graphite shade is new, limited edition.  The Non-Blonde has some great images of the Graphite liner and I agree with her, this should become part of the permanent collection.

There are a few more additions – the metallic cream eye shadows, which I’m not a huge fan of, and repromotes of lipsticks.  Overall though, I like this collection and feel if you are looking for a fresh spring look, it’s worth looking into.
