A while back Lancome changed up their eye shadow palettes to the Lancome Color Design 5 Shadow & Liner Palettes – the whole kit needed to create countless looks in one easy compact. You get the base or overall shadow, the lid, crease, highlighter and even a liner all in one.  Many of them are quite shimmery, but this new one called Peach Opulence is the perfect combination of matte, shimmer, shine and liner.

Plus they make it so easy and uncomplicated with their layover instructions as to where to put which shadow color.  Easy!Lancome Peach Opulence

The shadows are made in a process called Wet Pour Process, which is a Japanese technology that makes the shadows very silky, vivid and long-lasting. I agree, they are very soft, easy to blend and they last a long, long time. The shadows also contain Vitamin E and I should mention they can be applied wet or dry too.  Below you’ll see the steps I took to create a daytime look with the shadows.  I used them dry and not with the accompanying tools but with my own brushes.

Lancome Eye Look

Step 1.  I applied the #1 matte base all over the lid and to the brow bone with a large, fluffy brush. It’s a natural shade and blended in with my skin tone perfectly – enough to just neutralize the eye area.
Step 2.  I applied the shimmer #2 shadow on the lid and a little above the lid crease. This is a rosy/peach/golden shade and adds a nice dimension to the look.
Step 3.  Next I took a compact crease brush and applied the brown soft shimmer shade to the outer corner of my eye and swept it to right above the crease.  I then took the shadow that was left over on the brush and ran it along the lower lash line to soften and define.
Step 4.  Not wanting to over-do it for a day look and too much shimmer, I lightly applied the #4 highlighter shade, a golden quite shimmery shade, to just the inner corner of the eye and then lightly tapped a bit right on the center of the lid.
Step 5. This liner shadow I did use wet. I dipped my angled liner brush in some water and then ran it along the soft black liner shade.  I then applied it along the upper lash line.  Then I waited till it was dry and applied a dry layer over the top.
Step 6.  Lastly apply mascara to the top and bottom lashes and the day look is complete.
