I love a good palette and I recently spoke about this Kooba/Laura Mercier one briefly in my post about “Padded Makeup”. Of the three lines with what I call padded makeup, this one outshines the others.
First off, the case is designed by designer handbag line Kooba. You know you are getting a quality wallet piece just with the fact that it’s Kooba alone. The zippered case is a soft bronze metallic quilted case and the zipper tab has the Kooba insignia stamped into it. On the inside, the left side has a mirror and two credit card slots and another sleeve behind that as well which holds an instruction card for application options. In the center is a spot to put a mascara, and this one comes with a mini version of Laura’s Long Lash mascara. And then on the right side is the Laura Mercier color palette.
The palette comes with three shades of Lip Glaze from medium/dark to light in colors. I think all three shades are gorgeous, wearable shades. Then in the center are three eye shadows. On the left is Sable, which is a taupe/brown shimmer shade, in the center is Primrose, a pinkish apricot shimmer shade and for the liner, Black Plum. A very pretty deep brownish/black plum. On the bottom there are two blushes Rose and Plum and one light bronze veil color in Sunlit. If I have any complaint about this palette it is that the two blush shades are small, making it difficult to sweep up onto your blush brush. This also comes with a duo ended shadow brush. Covering the whole palette is a piece of plastic that can be peeled back when using the palette or close it to prevent smudging on the left side.
This palette is perfect for a trip I am taking later this month, where simplicity and ease will be a welcome change. The limited edition palette is available exclusively at Nordstrom.
