Kilian introduced his newest fragrance collection called In the garden of Good and Evil By Kilian. The collection described as a modern metaphor of the myth of the original sin. The collection (the coffret shown above) has three fragrances which can also be purchased individually.

In the City of Sin – The temptation which leads to carnal desire.

Good Girl Gone Bad – A woman who is game for anything in the world of love, of desire, of naughtiness

Forbidden Games – When going beyond the boundaries has never been so exciting and dangerously attractive

The first fragrance: In the City of Sin is described as a place of extreme temptation where every street corner offers the possibility of impromptu encounters and seductions. The notes open with Bergamot from Calabria, pink Peppercorns and Cardamom from Guatemala. The middle notes are Apricots and caramelized Plums and Turkish Rose Absolute and they dry down comes forward with Indonesian Incense entrances and then lends a profound depth, further sustained by Atlas and Virginia Cedar woods and rich Indonesian Patchouli.  Of the three, this is my second favorite and I like it better as the fragrance dries down, settling into some of the less fruity and floral scents that I prefer.

The second fragrance in the collection, Good Girl Gone Bad is my favorite of the three. It typifies a special sort of woman. A perfume that represents a kind of voluptuousness beloved by Kilian: sensual and unrestrained. It opens with notes of Jasmin Sambac and Chinese Osmanthus. Then it travels to the Rose of May giving off its honeyed heat. The Indian Tuberose nakedly exhibits its milky roundness, while the narcotic sensuality of Egyptian Narcissus surges forth, uncontrollable and deliciously haunting. It dries down with the senses heightened to Virginia Cedar and Amber to assert their headstrong character in order to contain that outpouring of opulence, but they never succeed in completely restraining.

The last of the three fragrances is Forbidden Games, embodies the spirit of a temptation that leads to total abandon. This one is quite fruity and floral for my personal palette, but if you like more fruity fragrances, it is a sophisticated version. The scent opens with Apple, Peach, Plum—spiced by Cinnamon bark. The middle notes are where the florals come forward with Bulgarian Rose Orpur, Geranium Bourbon, and Midnight Jasmine and then dries down to Madagascar Vanilla, Laotian Honey and the oil of Opoponax.

All the fragrances from By Kilian that I’ve ever had the opportunity to experience are beyond lovely. They’re sophisticated, unusual, draw you in and keep your senses heightened. Available at Bergdorf Goodman, bykilian.com and Saks.
