The new Giorgio Armani Summer 2013 Collection face palette is called Amber Glow. It’s a two layer palette, on the top is the face bronzer/glow and lift that up to reveal three eye shadows and applicators. Oddly, they only show the bronzer portion of the palette online, which is stunning in itself, but we all want to know the eye shades that go with it, right? Well, I’ll share.
But first, let’s discuss that bronzer. As I said previously, it’s stunning and it truly is. One of those pieces that you hate to use because it’s so beautiful, but then you want to use it because it’s beautiful. Tough decision, right? The bronzer has gradation of bronze shades from light to medium golden bronze and it’s inspired by a pleated lamé fabric. It truly looks like silk in person.
Notice the Giorgio Armani signature embossed in the palette, making this an extra-special look.
Here is the bronzer/glow applied quite heavily to my hand to show you the coloring of it. Personally I would apply it much more lightly, buy using a feather brush or skunk type brush. I would also not apply this all over the face, but strategically on the cheeks, temple and possibly even lightly down the nose.
Here is a view of the trio of shadows underneath the bronzer. A neutral/champagne shade, a soft golden peach shade in the center and a medium/dark bronzed brown on the end. All have slight shimmer to them and are very wearable.
Above are the trio of shades applied to my fair skin. I think this palette would work with all skin tones from fair to dark. It’s a nice warm palette that can enhance any summer look. I like how versatile this palette is and not restricted to a vibrant blue or green shade that can be so limiting.
As always the Giorgio Armani Summer 2013 Collection is a high quality beauty product and the price reflects that as well at $88 for the compact, but this is one of those pieces that will get a lot of use.
