Sulwhasoo, a high end Korean skincare line, has a new product out for something that many of us women over 40 have – the dreaded smile lines. The product is Sulwhasoo Microdeep Intensive Filling Cream & Patch. It’s created to work specifically at the nasolabial folds otherwise known as the smile lines. It’s a 30 day treatment that is used nightly. The cream is applied every night and the patches are applied to the nasolabial folds once every three days, so the kit contains 10 of the patches and one .84 fl oz of the cream.
Sulwhasoo is based on many natural ingredients including the main ingredient of ginseng in their skincare and this is no different, containing Red Ginseng and Lotus Seeds to stimulate collagen for long term results. The cream contains hyaluronic acid to plump up the smile lines with an immediate effect. When the patches are worn every 3rd night they are only worn for about 20 minutes or so, but they can be worn overnight if you want to see more instantaneous results.
I’ve been testing the Microdeep Intensive Filling Cream and Patch for a month and I’ve had some good results. I have over the last several months lost weight and it shows in my face and I do notice that my smile lines have become more noticeable over that time since I have lost volume in my face. That said, when I use the patches, I do notice some softening. Did they make the lines completely disappear? No, but definitely do notice softening for a while when usings this. My thoughts on it are this; if you just are showing the beginning signs of the dreaded smile lines, you may see better results than someone who has significant smile lines. However, if you have prominent smile lines this does soften them, and if going out for a holiday event or some other party, I would recommend not waiting till coming home and going to bed before using these but to use them before going out and your skin will look more plumped and softened.
Sulwhasoo is available at Bergdorf Goodman. Here is a video on how to use the cream and patches.
