I’m having a Bobbi Brown moment. A bit longer than a moment, actually. More like I’ve fallen in love again with Bobbi Brown products. Do you want to know what reignited my love? The You Tube videos by Hannah Martin, one of the British Bobbi Brown Pro Artists. Besides being mesmerized by her accent, she uses strictly Bobbi Brown products and does simple makeup applications that look amazing. From a day look, to a smokey eye look, she covers all the bases. While I hadn’t completely abandoned using Bobbi products, I had put them on the back shelf for awhile. No longer.
Above is the Bobbi Brown Holiday compact Party to Go. It contains 4 eye shadows and 1 mini lipstick. I also have the Wine nail polish, which Bobbi probably isn’t super well known for having nail colors. I constantly get complimented on them when I wear them. Even in the middle of sweating it out at Barre class the woman next to me asked what nail color I had on because she liked it so well.
Pardon the not-so-perfect palette, I’ve been using it. The compact is brown leather-like top with the Bobbi Brown emblem and trimmed in gold. The colors from top left are Naked, a soft matte blush shade, Beige, a shimmer wash shadow in a champagne shade, below that is Espresso in matte, a dark brown shade and then last but not least the Bronze metallic shade – more like a golden bronze than a dark bronze. Not only can this go from office to party in a flash, they are great wearable shades that you’ll reach for constantly, party or no. To the office I’ll wear the Naked shade all over, then add a touch of the Beige in the center of the lid and line my eyes with a dark brown pencil liner and then smudge it out with the Espresso shade. For evening I’ll take my finger and tap on the Bronze shade (something I learned from Hannah) and very lightly dip a fluffy eye brush in the Espresso shade and very lightly smoke it out to the corners and crease of my eyes for a more dramatic smokey look. But the thing about it is that it’s not an over-done smokey look. It’s a classic look, especially for women over 40.
In the palette on the side is a spot for the mini True Rose lipstick. I love the shade. Not a typical red holiday lip, but a medium rose shade that compliments the natural tones of the eye palette.
To top off this holiday look the nail polish in Wine is a great staple and not just for the holidays.
She also did another nail shade in Chocolate. But the wine is selling out quickly. I picked my up at the department store.
When I purchased these pieces the whole collection wasn’t quite out yet and now I’ve fallen in love with the Wine eye palette and the exclusive to Nordstrom “Bobbi Beauty Book” collection. I love the colors and especially after watching Hannah’s video where she applies the shades from Wine palette, I really love it!
