The “Battle of the Mascaras” continues with Cover Girl Lashblast, which has become known as the infamous “Orange tube” and Lancôme ‘Courbe Virtuôse’ Divine Lasting Curves Mascara .
First up is Cover Girl Lashblast. This has a large brush that is made of rubber tips. When it first came out it was compared to Chanel’s Inimitable mascara because both are made with rubber tipped brushes. To me, the two could not be more different, even though they have somewhat similar brushes.
Lashblast has a much larger head, which some people do not like, as they feel it is too big to use comfortably. I really like Lashblast, and for a drugstore mascara it does a wonderful job. It gives me thick full lashes, no clumping and no flaking. I hate flaking, so if a mascara doesn’t flake, it’s made it past test #1 for me. I am shown below with this on the eye on the left as you are looking at my photo.
The comparison mascara is Lancôme ‘Courbe Virtuôse’ Divine Lasting Curves Mascara. This has a curved brush with several longer bristles. It’s designed to give you length and curve for 12 hours. I have to say it does that for sure. What it does not do is give volume compared to the other mascaras I’ve tested here. But the length and detail is amazing! It defines every lash and no clumping or flaking either. Lancome’s mascara is on the right eye as you are looking at the photo.

So tell me – which one do you like best? Out of all four mascaras does one stand out? I’d love to hear your answers!
