My skin has been bothering me as of late. I’ve had many stress factors in my life and it definitely is showing up on my skin with dull, tired looking skin. There are certain things we can all do to prevent and improve our skin like making sure we get enough water, enough sleep and eat right, but if you’re like me you don’t always get enough of what is good for us. Life gets in the way as I like to say! But when it’s too much it starts to show in our skin which is the case with me. I take good care of my skin but I like to do the extras at times. I haven’t gone down the Botox or filler route but peels are a great way to get the life back into your skin.

SilkPeel® Dermalinfusion® is a great way to help get your good skin back – whether you have acne, fine lines and dryness, dark spots or sun and stress SilkPeel is a great peel to consider. I recently had the SilkPeel done at American Laser Skincare and loved how my skin felt and looked afterwards. When I arrived for my appointment they take you to a consultation room and ask several of questions – health wise and what you hope to accomplish with your skin needs, making sure that the procedure you are about to have is right for you. Then the SilkPeel process is explained and you are free to ask any questions along the way. Then you are taken to the room where the SilkPeel is done.

What is SilkPeel Dermalinfusion? Well, it’s a non-invasive peel where your skin is simultaneously exfoliated and infused with advanced skin care ingredients which will depend on what you want to accomplish with your skin. We determined to do the Vitamin C infusion on my skin, but there are 4 factors to consider for your infusion:

  1. Lumixyl for hyperpigmentation
  2. ClarityMD for acne
  3. Hydrating for dry skin
  4. Vitamin C for detoxification

The process takes about 30 – 40 minutes and the great thing about it is you are left with silky smooth skin right away. This is easily something that could be done on a lunch hour and no one would be the wiser. They’d just want to know why all the sudden you looked so “glowy”!

I’m sure several of you have heard of HydraFacial, which I too have had done. This is a similar process, but a huge difference is that the tool they use to exfoliate and infuse has a diamond tip for exfoliation. And instead of blasting the skin in the exfoliation process, SilkPeel vacuums the skin with a controlled pressure so it’s easier and more controlled for the aesthetician to get an even exfoliation and distribution of skin care over your skin. I could tell a difference between the two procedures in that this felt more intense, if you will. But certainly not intolerable.  Also, with SilkPeel they are able to go around the eyes and lips unlike some other similar peels, and our eye area is definitely one of the first areas we start to see aging. I also like that my neck was treated as well – a spot that women oftentimes neglect.

This is a great thing to consider with acne and hyperpigmentation, too. The photos they showed me of before/after with several treatments was remarkable! I loved how my skin felt and looked great for days later just after one treatment.  They do recommend a series of treatments to get the best results – especially for those wanting either the acne or hyperpigmentation results and that can be determined in your initial consultation. The price for the SilkPeel is around $150 and purchase packages are available.

Thank you to American Laser for the comped service and giving me my glow back!
