Last week I had the opportunity to meet Kim McFadden with Le Metier de Beaute, which translates to “the craft of beauty”, while at my local Neiman Marcus. Kim has been with the company since the beginning and taught me several things about the line. Many know it’s a newer luxury line and are well known for their eye shadow sets called Kaleidoscopes offer creative use of cool and warm shades that blend in ways most of us wouldn’t imagine. The powders are so finely milled that when colors are blended they create beautiful shades, instead of like some shadows that aren’t finely milled, when blended can turn muddy.
What is also different about Le Metier de Beaute is that they work with the best of the best to create the line. Such as their eye and lip pencils are made in Germany and their liquid pen liner (best I’ve ever used) was developed with Mont Blanc are just a few examples of the steps taken to create a quality product.
A few of the products they are best known for are:
- Peau Vierge Anti-Aging Foundation – the weight and texture of a tinted moisturizer, but contains skin care treatment including retinol
- Kaleidoscope palettes for eyes, lips and now cheeks
- Recently released skincare line which has SYNTOC ACTIF + POWER4 Anti-aging Complex, Snap 8 – a powerful peptide, Retinol, Coenzyme Q10 and L-Carnosine. SYNTOC ACTIF delivery system allows a 24 times deeper penetration to the dermis for faster and more visible results
- Ken Downing Collections – a collaboration between Neiman Marcus’ Fashion Director and Le Metier de Beaute
- Marchesa Collections – a collaboration between the Marchesa designers and LMdB

Hope I win… would love to try out the L’Oreal hairspray. I live in Houston and I have tried many, none outweigh the humidity. 🙁
Julie Bowen’s look was best.
I love Loreal products.
