Today I’m continuing my comparison shopping. This time it will be on eye makeup removers. I have tried several different ones and these two are at opposite ends of the price spectrum. First up is L’Oreal Eye Makeup Remover.

This remover is very lightweight and not the least bit oily feeling. It feels like putting water onto a cotton pad and when you wipe your eye with it, your makeup comes right off. Now, I don’t wear waterproof mascara as it makes my eyelashes fall out – and who needs naked eyes! So I honestly couldn’t tell you if this works for removing waterproof mascara, but it removes an honest day’s work lickity-split. It sells for $4.99 at Target.

I’m comparing it today to Nars eye makeup remover. This says that it’s a non-greasy formula, but I’m hesitant to believe that. Now, I’m no scientist, but I was always taught oil and water don’t mix and as you can see on this bottle – there’s some separation going on. You shake it well and it does remove the makeup, but for my sensitive eyes it feels oily and leaves a film on my eyes and seems to make my eyes blurry for a bit. I’ve never felt it harmed my eyes, but for $25 a bottle, I’m sticking with L’Oreal. Now if you wear waterproof mascara, this may just be the ticket for you.

What’s your favorite eye makeup remover – I’d love to know!
