Once and awhile there is a makeup line that comes along that “wows” me and leaves me longing for more of what they have to offer. In 1991 it was Bobbi Brown, loved it then and love it now. Then several years ago it was Giorgio Armani cosmetics, I instantly fell for the line and fell hard. Now, Jouer is the newest line that has a piece of my heart.
I may have mentioned before, but one day while spending endless hours on the web checking out sites I ran across Troy Jensen’s blog. He’s an incredible makeup artist and what’s great is he shows how he creates all those looks for the celebrity faces he does. Seriously, check it out – it’s fabulous! One product that he uses often which stood out was Jouer.
As I stated most of this before, I was on a mission to find Jouer and lo and behold a PR person from Jouer contacted me about Jouer to see if I wanted to try some things from the line. Good beauty karma! I tried it, loved it, and blogged about it. But, I wanted to see more and get some of the product in shades that suited my pale skin tone.
While in NYC I hit Henri Bendel where it’s carried and met makeup artist Karen. She was great at explaining the line and helping me select shades that work on my skin tone. We both looked at each other with a scrutinizing eye and realized we really are about the exact same skin tone, eye color and hair color. Only she’s around 20+ years younger! I love it when a makeup artist matches most of your coloring because chances are they have experienced with the line way more than you ever have or will get the chance to and so they know what will work for your skin tone!
Karen used some colors from the new Fall collection on me including the Fawn shade of Cheek and Lip Tint on my cheeks, Lola lipstick and Exquisite lip gloss, and espresso eye shadow. Some of the colors are part of the “Up In Smoke” collection for fall.
I also picked up the correct shade of concealer and Age Repairing Perfector. One other fabulous thing about this line is how the pieces all connect together – even the lipgloss! Those pieces shown above are not just sitting next to each other, they’re actually connected. You can customize your makeup to exactly what you want!
The last fabulous thing I’m going to talk about today with the line is the Luminizing Moisture Tint. AMAZING. Besides being a wonderful moisturizer and texture, it gives a good amount of coverage for a tint and the Golden shade is perfect for my pale skin – it gives it a beautiful warm luminosity without looking like I have too dark of a foundation shade. It warms up my skin perfectly. Nearly all the products have skin care goodness right in them too.
I’m sure this isn’t the last you will hear me talk about Jouer. (French for At Play)

Did the moisture tint dry your skin out at all? I find at the end of the day, my skin is dry and tight. I use a great moisturizer and ss before hand so it’s not that i’m not moisturizing! Thanks!
No, I’ve never had that problem at all.
