Saving Face Yes, we are “officially” into summer even though the calendar doesn’t quite read summer. But we are now enjoying warmer days in the sun, time by the pool or lake, taking in a few backyard barbecues and maybe enjoying a few late nights and with that a few umbrella cocktails, too. You may like it, but your skin may not and now that you’re back at your desk you don’t necessarily wanting your overly fun weekend showing on your face.  Remember, if you over-do it with the weekend, keeping it simple with your skincare and makeup will be best to fake that look of “I really stayed in and caught up on my reading and sleeping”.

First thing’s first – increase your intake of water. Instead of the usual 8 glasses, up it to 10 or even 12. Your skin and body will thank you. Wash your face with a good cleanser that fits your skin type to be sure to get all the telltale signs of the weekend off. Then I like to use a toner after cleansing to help get skin to its natural pH level. After that I want to do a deep exfoliating and these facial discs work great and are super easy to use. After letting that sit on your skin a good few minutes then an excellent moisturizer is a must. This Lancome Renergie Lift is in a new lighter formula so it goes on super smoothly and absorbs quickly. The formula is for lifting and firming – something your skin could surely use after a busy weekend. Once your skin is all prepped from skincare and feeling refreshed now is not the time to overdo your makeup. Hide some of those dark circles and red spots with the Tom Ford Concealer. I love the perfect weight coverage, ease of use with the sponge tip and the coverage isn’t dulling to the skin either. Then give your skin a sunkissed glow by applying Chanel Healthy Glow Fluid all over the face. It’s sheer with a hint of warmth to give your skin some color without having to bake in the sun. A pop of color on the cheeks with a cream blush works wonders to give your skin some life back. The By Terry Hydra-Mousse blush is an excellent choice for hydration and color. Finish off the look with a few swipes of mascara and you’re ready to go.  No one will be the wiser on what you really did this weekend.
