Wood Sage

Nordstrom MOA recently had a special release party for the new Jo Malone fragrance Wood Sage & Sea Salt. As a fan of the simplistic scents of Jo Malone this one intrigued me because I’m a fan of sea salt scented products. Not only does the scent transport you to the ocean, I love the clean and crispness of the scent. I was curious what wood sage would do to a sea salt scent.  It takes away some of the crispness and makes it a bit more moody. And I have to mention that this image above reminds me in every way of a co-worker Tasha.

Jo Malone fragrances are never heavy no matter the scent, but this one is one of the scents that is less light and playful. It’s a great for fall. Of course Jo Malone is all about the scent mixing to create your own personal scent. Something I’m always hesitant to do – will it become too muddy in all different textures and completely lose its appeal? Well, with the lightness that Jo Malone fragrances are – no matter the fragrance, they don’t get muddy.  In fact some of the combinations can be quite amazing, because I never in my wildest dreams would have combined Wood Sage & Sea Salt with Peony and Blush Suede and think it would work.  But it does.  Beautifully.  Which is the joy of Jo Malone.

While I was there I checked out some other products – the body creams are sensational, the dry body oils are fabulous when mixed with a body cream and the body scrub is out of this world! For the home scents the limited edition Pine and Eucalyptus is perfect for the fall. Not like so many cheap pine scents that come out this time of year, but sophisticated and warm. It was suggested to me that the best scent for the bathroom is Lime Basil and Mandarin. It is perfect for the bathroom!  They have many holiday sets that are now available on a limited basis.
