Colbert MD Skincare

I felt like my skin was going to barely survive this winter and everyone I know was complaining about their skin, too. Extra special care was needed for the skin and now’s a great time to start repairing your skin to get it where it needs to be.  I’ve been using a few products from Colbert MD that were sent to me to get my skin back into shape and I like the results so far!

Exfoliation is key to allowing skin care products to work properly and the Tone Control Facial Discs are multi-purpose. After cleansing the skin and while it’s still damp, take one of these discs – they’re approximately 1 ½” in diameter and one side is coated in a plastic type material and the exposed side is the texture of a wash cloth, gentle yet some fibrous texture to it. The plastic side pulls up to create a “handle” in which to hold the disc and rub all over your face in a circular motion for 30-60 seconds.  That’s it! It’s made with potent actives combined with gentle microdermabrasion to tone and brighten the skin. Dr. Colbert has a patented QuSome technology that delivers the plant-based nutrients to the skin at depths where the new skin begins. In other words, it delivers it to the deeper layer of the skin, not just sitting on the top of the skin.  It contains SkinBright QuSome, a tyrosinase inhibitor that lightens dark spots and evens the skin tone.  The Co-Enzyme Q10 and Lipoic Acid are potent anti-oxidants that fight free radicals and can aid in repairing photo damage.  Inflacin improves overall skin tone by reducing redness and swelling.  My sensitive skin was not bothered by the ingredients. In fact, my skin felt really good after using the Tone and Control Facial Discs.

Then, when I was done using the disc I applied the Illumino Face Oil. My skin loved this oil and you don’t have to have dry skin for your skin to adjust to a face oil. Give them a try! Just a few pumps easily covers the whole face and neck areas and it quickly absorbs into the skin. Illumino Face Oil contains Retinol and Vitamin C Esters to work at the topical level to soothe and comfort the complexion and the QuSome™ technology delivers oil deep into the skin for best results. During the day when I used this, it was enough to keep my skin moisturized and bring back some of the missing youthful glow to my skin. At night time I did want an “extra drink” of moisture so I layered this with a night cream. In the mornings my skin looked plumped and moisturized like it should.  This contains several different oils that do various good things for the skin – Borage Seed Oil, Yangu Oil, Marula Oil, Passion Fruit Oil,  and Argan Oil.

My skin is finally starting to feel like it’s normal again! Both of these products are newer to the Colbert MD skincare line – a line I’ve heard great things about in the past but had never tried it till now. I really like these products and they are available at colbertmd.com and Space NK
