Always taking fashion to the edge, Cate Blanchett was stunning as usual in this nude toned dress. The paillettes and jewels keep the nude color from becoming boring, which Cate certainly is not.
Naomi Watts looked gorgeous in white. Her slicked back hair and red lips added a touch more glamour to her look.
Meryl Streep accented her flowing dress with metal belt and bracelets. She has worn belts on the red carpet several times and she knows how to do it well. This is one of her better looks on the red carpet recently.
Bette Midler’s gown is one of my favorites of the night. The cut and style fit her figure beautifully and I love the color and print. Beautiful!
Amy Adams (she’ll be 40 this year) went with a structured Gucci gown that fit her like a glove. I loved the color of this dress. On TV it didn’t look quite so vibrant blue, but a more grayed blue. Either way, beautiful.
Sandra Bullock’s dress is one of her best red carpet looks. Not only was the color stunning, but the draping nipped and tucked in all the right places and accentuated her figure perfectly. And I have to say her smoky eye makeup was gorgeous as well.
This dress that Julia Roberts chose was probably the “frilliest” dress I’ve ever seen her wear. The peplum accented her figure and the lace gave the dress a softer look. Her hairstyle and makeup worked perfectly with it as well.
Oscar nominated singer Idina Menzel wore a deep green strapless gown. I loved this color on her! It was great to see this rich tone in the sea of nudes.
Which dress was your favorite?

You hit all of my favorites, Kari. In fact, it just dawned on me that the ONLY under 40’s on my “Best” list were Lupita and Charlize. Over-40’s know how to bring it!!
