The never ending dilemma of finding the perfect foundation has plagued me for years. Blotchy skin, sometimes dry, sometimes very oily, redness in spots, having pink in the face and a very yellow neck – these are some of my issues I contend with when trying to find the perfect foundation. You can feel my pain, I know it. Many of you have these issues too, maybe not all but at least some of them.
So when I heard that Giorgio Armani came out with a new foundation I had to give it a try – his foundations have always been amazing, but this new one, Maestro Fusion Foundation may be the most amazing foundation I have ever tried. Like, blow me out of the water amazing. I’m sure you’re thinking, blah blah blah, I’ve heard it before. But I have to say this is the most innovative product I’ve seen or used in a very long time. And you know I’ve tried a lot of products.
Last weekend I was at the Nordstrom Cosmetic Trend Show and the lovely Rhona Samuels from Giorgio Armani Beauty was there as well. She told me that she is finding that a lot of women are using Maestro Fusion Foundation as a foundation and as a primer. It can go under Luminous Silk foundation as a primer or worn alone. Personally I prefer it alone, but I do have to give it a try with Luminous Silk. Maestro is like skincare for the face and the first thing you notice is the unique texture. Place a drop (the bottle has a dropper) on the back of the hand and that is all you need. Rhona said to apply it with the fingers to get the best effect and when doing that it just melds with the skin beautifully.
It’s difficult to describe how it feels – it’s extremely smooth with a velvety slip to it and the coverage is a medium coverage that leaves the skin amazingly flawless looking. The coverage isn’t heavy or drying either; matte, yet luminous is how the skin looks. My every imperfection disappeared and stayed that way for several hours. 4 and 5 hours later I was still looking at my skin expecting the foundation to be gone and my skin looking it’s old blotchy self, but that didn’t happen. I am truly obsessed with this. Oh and shade #5 matches my skin perfectly.
What makes this different than other foundations? According to the company there are five volatile, semi-volatile and non-volatile oils have been selected one-by-one to create a precious clear mixture totally miscible presenting a time release action:
Evaporating at different rates it provides an optimal combination of application slip and non-greasy feel, but with a moisture and comfort sensation all day long. The volatile “dry-oil” awakens skin with an immediate feeling of freshness, a cushiony oil provides a featherlight, glide-on textural sensation and a perfectly even distribution of the complexion perfecting pigments film. The non-volatile complex, including extracts of the lotus oil, which has anti-free radical properties and hydrating agents, remains on skin surface. This works for all skin types – even oily because the oils don’t leave a greasy feel.
And if you ever get to a beauty event with Rhona or Tim there you won’t be disappointed. I recall about 3 years ago Rhona did my eyes at an event and they were stunning. I watched her work her magic Saturday on other women and everyone was thrilled with how beautiful she made them look!

I HAVE to try it – Kari I swear we have the same skin! Must be the Minnesota!
You will love it! Nothing like it – maybe it is the MN skin!
This looks amazing but I get nervous with foundations anymore. I use a BB cream from Korea only because it covers and doesn’t sneak into my wisdom lines! 😉
