I’m going to be traveling this week so of course that means my Trish McEvoy planner will be going with me – it always does!  I’ve talked a lot in the past about how I love my planner and ALWAYS travel with it, but another piece in the line that I use a lot of, but don’t seem to talk much about is the Classic Eye Pencil.

What’s so different or the big deal about this eye pencil?   Well, a few things.  I don’t like an eye pencil that is so hard you feel like you will poke your eye out in order to get the color on your lash line, and I don’t like a pencil that is so super soft that it’s difficult for the color to remain in tact throughout the day.   Trish’s Classic Eye Pencil is the perfect combination.   It deposits color easily, and it’s creamy, but it’s not so creamy that it doesn’t stay put.  The liner color stays on my eye all day after application.

Here’s another important factor  when using eye pencils – especially for those of us over 40; sometimes when you use a pencil that is too harsh and you have lined or wrinkled eyes, liner can look bad.   Same with too creamy of a pencil – it can settle into fine lines.   And what about the fact that it’s more and more difficult to apply a fine line when your eye’s aren’t as great as they used to be and it’s difficult to see (Hello – me!)  These are all great reasons to love the Trish Classic Eye Pencil – I don’t have a problem with these issues at all.  With the sponge tip opposite end, its great for smoothing out imperfections or smoking the line out.  And, it’s a soft sponge tip – not a harsh one like some can be.

My only wish is that this would be available in more than the basic black and brown shades.
