Pure Color Nights by Estee Lauder

Pure Color Nights by Estee Lauder

A Fabulous Limited Edition Availability!

Do you recall my love for this first, very limited edition collection by Tom Pecheux for Estee Lauder called Pure Color Nights?  Read my Fab Over Forty love here and here. Pure Color Nights was limited to Bergdorfs in the US and a few select stores in Europe and it sold out like hot cakes at a church fundraiser!

Quite surprisingly, I got a phone call from Catinca at Bergdorf Goodman  NYC Estee Lauder counter stating that their store only is getting a very limited 30 more sets of this beautiful collection!     The pieces will be available September 10, but you can call now to reserve your pieces, which I highly recommend.  Let’s face it ladies – 30 sets of this will go faster than you can eat those hot cakes at that church fundraiser!

Call Catinca at 212-872-2741 to reserve yours now!

Estee Lauder Pure Color Gloss Collection

Estee Lauder Pure Color Gloss Collection

“Gloss brings a highlight and sensuality to the face. For me, a woman who wears a gloss looks like she wants to be kissed!”

 - Tom Pecheux, Creative Makeup Director, Estée Lauder

I appear to be on a roll lately with Tom Pecheux and Estee Lauder.   With how much I love my new Pure Color Night collection, I know his additional products will be a huge success as well.   Available now at Nordstrom and Nordstrom.com are the new six color collection of Pure Color Gloss created by Tom Pecheux.

Let me explain a bit about the new Pure Color Gloss Collection, as it might be a bit confusing.    Tom has created these 6 specific colors for his collection which are available at Nordstrom and Nordstrom.com.   However, the company has released a total of 34 new glosses in the Pure Color Gloss Collection which are available at all Estee Lauder counters and Estee Lauder online.    Here’s where it might get tricky.   Of the 6 lip gloss shades by Tom Pecheux shown above, only 4 of them are limited edition (and still only available thru Nordstrom) so when they are gone, they are gone!   The limited edition shades are:

  • Perfect Nude
  • Fuchsia Fever
  • Red Tango
  • Coral Fantasy

The shades Plum Desire and Nude Rose, which are shown in the 6 above, will be part of the regular Pure Color Gloss Collection.   What I’m told by the Estee Lauder representative is that from the image shown above, the 3rd from the left  Plum Desire  and #5  Nude Rose colors are the ones that are part of the 34 mainstay color collection.

These new glosses are said to have high-impact color, lasting shine and maximum moisture.   They come in three finishes:

  • Shine – for an ultra shiny glossy finish
  • Shimmer – finely cut pearls offer a fierce shimmer
  • Sparkle – super high-shine fused with metallic sparkle for the most dramatic look of the three finishes.

They all have Vitamin C and E to moisturize and protect lips, multi-functional humectants leaving lips soft and hydrated immediately and over time improving the condition of the lips.

I believe I will be making a mad dash for the Estee Lauder counter this week to check these out!

Estee Lauder Pure Color Night Collection – It’s Here!

My Estee Lauder Pure Color Night Collection from Tom Pecheux arrived early Saturday morning.   I have been anxiously awaiting the arrival and it is a collection that was definitely worth the wait.  I’ll be sharing several images of this with you.  After being told that it is sold out in the US I wouldn’t be surprised if pieces of this collection show up for bidding wars on eBay.  Not mine, I’m keeping this as it is simply fabulous!

Let me say, if this is what we have to look forward with the collaboration between Estee Lauder and Tom Pecheux, I think it will be a beautiful relationship that we will all benefit from!  To start with, the packaging on this line is a welcome updated look.   The midnight blue shade with the embossed signature EL is simply elegant, more modern and quite gorgeous.

The eye shadow trio shown above is called Naughty Black.   To me it’s a deep, dark brownish black plum more than a straight black.  The same shade is used in three different textures.   On the far left it is the heaviest of the shimmer, which is still not a lot of shimmer.  The middle texture is a soft shimmer and the far right is a matte texture.   What I really like about this is that you can use a light hand and make this a wearable by day shade or use a more intense application for a smoky eye for evening sexiness.

And how classy is this!   When you open up the Luminous Powder in a shade called Highlight, there is this gold toned engraved plate.

As I’ve mentioned before, the highlighting powders by Estee Lauder are some of my all-time favorites and this one doesn’t disappoint either.   A soft, very wearable netural shade with just the right amount of shimmer makes this a perfect piece to own.   The applicator it comes with is sponge tipped, not the usual brush.  This adds a bit of color, a hint of shimmer and the super soft texture makes it so easy to apply.  If you’re creating a deeper eye tone, you want to keep the cheeks and lips fairly neutral and soft.  And if you use this eye shadow with a light hand for daytime, using this powder on the cheeks keeps it neutral and soft, so it’s very wearable for either instance.

This lip gloss shade called Kiss Me matches my lips perfectly.  It gives them a creamy soft, non-sticky shimmer and shine.   Lovely.

Here are my eyes done with the Naughty Black shade in the far left shimmery texture.   I first applied a neutral beige all over the eye and then lined with a charcoal pencil liner – neither of which are part of this collection.   Then I took a light, fluffy brush and swept from the outer corner into the crease.   As you can see, it’s not as dark as it looks in the pan.

And here I am wearing the whole collection.  The only color (besides the beige base and charcoal liner) used is from this collection.   So Pure Color Night can definitely be worn by day as well.  Be sure to check out Best Things in Beauty as well.  She loves this collection just as much and has some great swatches she’s shared too.

Estee Lauder’s Debut at NY Fashion Week

Estee Lauder NYFW

True story – just today while on the bus to work I was reading my emails to start the day.  I was reading several of the emails about NY Fashion Week and all the makeup looks by various artists and makeup companies.   I then wondered to myself – why doesn’t Estée Lauder ever have their line used by one of the many makeup artists for the runway shows?  And guess what I get in my email box late this afternoon…

For the first time in Estée Lauder’s 64 year history, they embarked on NY Fashion Week by sponsoring the makeup look for Derek Lam’s runway show.   The look was created by their new Creative Makeup Director, Tom Pecheux.

”When Derek showed me the fabrics that inspired his Fall 2010 collection – bold and muted tones mixed with earthy pigments including terracotta, greens and browns – I thought the makeup shades should be complimentary. So we chose a blend of bold blue shadows on the eyes, shimmering copper lips and flawless, matte skin created with a light foundation — an on-trend beauty preview of what we will see for Fall 2010.”  Tom Pecheux, Estée Lauder Creative Makeup Director. EL NYFW

I can’t say that the denim blue shade of eye shadow could really be worn for our age group, but I love the look of the rest of the face – especially that lip color!  The eye shadows are  new shades that are yet to be revealed as they’re coming out in the Fall.   But the lip color is Pure Color Crystal Lipstick in Crystal Beige.    I must check that shade out!

I’m anxious to see what else Tom Pecheux comes up for Estée Lauder.   We’ll just have to stay tuned!
