I get questions from time to time and offer them up for everyone to benefit.
Lately I’ve been getting a lot of questions on shadows creasing on the lids or not staying on during the day, as well as eye liner not staying put. Here’s my remedy that works for me and I hope will work for you as well.

Before I apply any makeup to my eyes, first I apply Eye Basics, by Laura Mercier. I don’t use this as an eye shadow, but as a base. I have somewhat oily, somewhat creased and red eye lids. This covers all discoloration and leaves a beautiful matte, smooth base for applying eye shadows. It comes in a variety of skin tone shades.

Next I apply a dab of my face powder over my eye lids. I personally use Prescriptives Custom Blend powder, as I have tried too many to count that don’t match my skin.
This one-two combination has forever prevented creasing and fading of eye shadows on me. My only suggestion is that the face powder you use, not be a moisturizing one, as that may cause the eye shadows not to stay in place as well.
As far as eye liner migrating and not lasting the day, my solution to this is to use Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Gel Eye Liner. Nothing has ever worked as well as this does for me. I highly recommend using the brush that Bobbi has designed to go with this liner, the Ultra-Fine Eyeliner Brush. I have tried others, but none work as well.
My little tip on learning how to use this – as some people have a problem, is of course practice. But, I also take a folded tissue, then scoop a dab of the liner out of the pot with the liner brush onto the tissue and work the liner into the brush. This prevents lumps of liner and gives you a very smooth application. You can make thick or thin lines with this brush. I used this on everyone that I applied makeup on recently at a family wedding and everyone LOVED it!
