QVC Has National Makeover Day Thursday

QVC Has National Makeover Day Thursday

Bobbi Brown QVC

Thursday, May 20th is National Makeover Day on QVC.

Are you free tomorrow (Thursday) to watch QVC for 24 hours?  Well, if you are, you’ll have a day of beauty devoted to helping women create a positive change inside and out.  There will be home makeovers and then fashion makeovers by Bradley Bayou and Gretta Monahan.   Headlining the hair will be Chaz Dean with his WEN hair care line and Bobbi Brown with makeup.  Even Suze Orman gets in on the makeover fun with a financial makeover.

Personally, I’m very excited about the Bobbi Brown feature.  The products shown above are from the Downtown Beauty six piece collection which will be featured tomorrow.  This would regularly sell for approximately $157 and will be $102 on QVC.  But stay tuned regarding that price, could it be better???  You get a five eyeshadow eye palette,  five palette lip shades, a Caviar Longwear Eye Gel along with the liner brush, a Washed Rose Shimmering Blush and a sheer gloss in Popsicle.

As part of “National Makeover Day” QVC will give six deserving women from Dress for Success personal life makeovers – including a beauty makeover from Bobbi Brown, financial makeover from Suze Orman, hair makeover from Chaz Dean and a fashion makeover from Bradley Bayou and Gretta Monahan.  The transformations will be revealed live, throughout the day, on QVC, with the experts sharing how QVC’s customers can acheive similar results from the comfort of their own homes.

Bobbi Brown has been a huge supporter of Dress for Success and QVC will be making a collective contribution of $250,000 to the organization.     I wish I could watch all day!  Maybe that cough will be coming back that plagued me the last time QVC had an all-day beauty day.

Carmindy and Fabulousness

CarmindyI had the great opportunity to attend a book signing last night, of the TLC “What Not To Wear” specialists.  Signing books were Clinton Kelly, Nick Arrojo and the gorgeous Carmindy. All three of them could not have been more fabulous!   Such sincerely nice people as they chatted with everyone that waited in line for their book/s to be signed.

I’m going to focus today on Carmindy. First off, does she not look FABULOUS!?  She had on a beautiful dress and to-die-for shoes.  And her face – even more beautiful and flawless in person. As I had her sign my copy of her book, “Get Positively Beautiful” I told her that I write a beauty blog for women over 40 and she was excited for me. She asked me if I got samples of her product (they were giving away a few things and I got a lip gloss and under eye brightener) and then she gave me a few suggestions for me.  She wanted me to try her foundation and listed the color for me, and her all over face brightener.  I’m definitely going to give the products a try. The ones I received last night I will be posting about in a future post.

But more about her book.  I think this is a great book for several reasons.  One of the main reasons I love it is because she can easily relate to the “average” woman.  She discusses her beauty journey and really focuses not on our “flaws” but making those unique features to actually focus on!   What a refreshing concept, we’ve been preached to on how to cover our flaws, and this book teaches us to accept and enjoy them.
