Fabulous Over Forty – Where Beauty Is Ageless

To continue on with the show (no pun intended) I want to share with your a few other looks from the Cosmetic Trend Show. The second cosmetic theme in the show is Winter Berry Lips. 

Here’s a look at the clothing for that theme the day before the show.  Beautiful purple, wine, burgundy shades and velvet and satin textures. I LOVE these color variations!

Some of the beauty lines that participated in this theme were Estée Lauder, Philosophy, and Chanel.   Shiseido was on the schedule, but did not appear in the show for some reason.

Along with the holiday makeup looks and collections, each of the lines feature a product from their whole line that is either new or a best seller as well.   For Estée Lauder it was their new Turbo Lash mascara.  I have not tried this before, but with Lancome and their version and now Prescriptives coming out with their version of vibrating, battery operated mascara, I am becoming less afraid and more curious.

Estée Lauder’s Holiday collection is full of beautiful vibrant jewel tones this season- hence the name Vintage Jewels.

There are 3 new eye shadow duos, in a light and a deep shade.  They are:

• Sapphire is a pale shimmery, silvery blue and sapphire blue
• Emerald is a champagne shimmer and dark emerald set
• Amethyst is a soft silvery plum shimmer and a dark amethyst/plum shade (shown below)

The duos are vibrant and powerful colors – at first look, I thought it was much too intense for someone over 40.   But, at second thought, if you apply it appropriately – such as the lighter shade all over and just a hint of the darker shade, or use the darker shade as a liner, it would look beautiful.  Each of the duos have a coordinating eye liner pencil as well.

The lip colors are gorgeous with the faceted colors in Black Cherry, Rich Red and Ruby.    But the “Crown Jewel” of the collection is the Shimmering Jewel Powder compact.  (shown below).    It is a beautiful compact with champagne and gold faceted pressed powder.  Use it as a highlighter on the face or body. 

Top off this Vintage Jewels collection with a spritz of the new Amber Ylang Ylang perfume (my absolute favorite) and you are set to wow ‘em for any holiday party.

This is a limited edition collection, so be sure to hit the stores early before they are gone.

Giorgio Armani has done it again with a beautifully classical look for the holidays.

The eyes have a subtle smokey look to them – not too overdone where you’d feel like you were trying too hard, but just right for a beautiful impact.

The eye palette has four eye shadows in a Swarovski Crystal encrusted case. $98  The colors are:

• Silver white – light grey metallic
• Golden white – an iridescent golden metallic
• Golden beige – a shimmering rose beige with golden pearl
• Silver black – a black with a shimmering silver
• Body shimmer- on the bottom of the palette is a soft shimmering body powder in a neutral shade

Top off the eye look with Silver Sparkling mascara top coat. $28
