Fabulous Over Forty – Where Beauty Is Ageless

Are you a “Twilight” fan?   I personally have never read any of the books or been to the movie(s), but I know many women are – and they aren’t just the teens.   So the other night at the premiere of “New Moon”, celebrity makeup artist Vanessa Scali created this ‘beautiful at any age’ look on Ashley Greene.   See what products she used to create this fabulous look.

“The look was classic 60′s,” reports Vanessa. “Well-defined eyes with lots of lashes, a strong brow and clean skin with subtle pink/coral cheeks and lips.”

To start, Vanessa evened out Ashley’s “nearly flawless skin” with Lancôme’s Effacernes concealer in Light Bisque underneath the eyes.  ”It gives clean, fresh, flawless coverage,” she said. Bobbi Brown’s Foundation Stick followed. Lancôme’s Blush Subtil in Shimmer Pink Pool topped the apples of the cheeks.

For Ashley’s dramatic eyes, Vanessa swept YSL’s Fard Lumiére Aquarésistant Cream Eyeshadow in Pink Sands over the entire eye. To define and elongate the lash line, Vanessa used Lancôme’s Artliner in Black and lined the inner rims with Shu Uemura’s Painting Liner in White. The finishing touch: a few generous coats of Lancôme’s Ôscillation Mascara in Black for “seductively lengthy lashes,” says Vanessa. Ashley’s brows were sculpted with Lancôme’s Le Crayon Poudre in Brunet.

Finally, Lancôme’s hot new lipstick from the Pout-á-Porter series-L’Absolu Rouge in Chris & Tell-made a sneak peek appearance. My husband and I happened to be lucky enough to get tickets to The Letterman Show this past Monday and Julia Louis-Dreyfus was his guest on the show.

She had a gorgeous dress of black with gold lace overlay, beautiful hair and impeccable makeup. She’s toned, fit and best of all funny! They say laughter keeps you young, and at 47 – she looks better than most women in their 30′s. I think she’ll be young forever.

Way to show us how it’s done!

She charmed us in Devil Wears Prada, surprised us with her blond ways in Brokeback Mountain and has shown us how to Get Smart as well.

But Anne Hathaway’s best look yet is dumping her supposed con artist of a boyfriend and cutting her hair. She is gorgeous, and I love the new non-bright red lipstick look on her (I like the red too, but this is a nice change) and eyes not lined in tons of black liner and of course the shorter hair.
