How To Get Angelina Jolie’s Oscar Look

81st Annual Academy Awards - Arrivals

Angelina Jolie looked stunning in a black strapless Elie Saab gown paired with beautiful emerald-colored jewels which added a striking burst of color. It really was one of my favorite red carpet looks I’ve seen on her as of late.

Celebrity makeup artist Mary Burton created Angelina’s flawless look.

Mary applied Le Crayon Khôl in Black Ebony to the upper and lower lash lines. She emphasized the shape of Angelina’s eyes by applying more liner to the outer corners of the eye.

Several coats of Ôscillation Mascara were applied to the upper lashes for added volume and length.

Mary put a touch of pink to the cheeks using Shu Uemura Blush in M Pink 31 and applied it to her cheekbones near the temple.

To create ultra-shiny and luminous lips, Mary used Juicy Tubes in Spring Fling.

Simple, yet elegant – and oh so easy to create at home.   And it’s a look that would be great for us “Fabulous Over Forty” ladies!

Angelina Jolie’s SAG Award Beauty

15th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards - Arrivals

I personally like this dress better than the “deadly” looking grey dress she wore to the Golden Globes, but I’m not so sure about this hair – I can’t seem to put my finger on it – is it the style (although I loved the back)or that just all one color “out of the bottle look”.   Hmmm.

Angelina wore a dark, navy blue Max Azria gown and celebrity makeup artist Mary Burton wanted to create a 60’s look and chose to focus on Angelina’s eyes.

She applied lots of eyeliner and mascara. She used a liquid eyeliner (Lancôme Artliner in Noir) just above the lash line. To compliment Angelina’s eye color and to make her eyes really stand out, she applied a bluish grey eyeshadow (YSL Ombre Solo Double Effect Eyeshadow in #3 Blue Silk) to the eyelid. Finally, she applied several coats of Lancôme Courbe Virtuôse Mascara in Black. (Loved the eyes!)

Mary added a touch of pink to the apples of the cheeks using Shu Uemura blush in M Pink 31. To create ultra-shiny and luminous lips, Mary used Lancôme Color Fever Gloss in Rose Jolie.

Create Angelina’s Golden Globe Beauty

Angelina’s look on the runway was sheer, natural and focused on her eyes.   Her makeup look was created by makeup artist Mary Burton.  Here’s the scoop on her look so you can create it at home.

Give your eyes dramatic definition with Lancôme Artliner in Noir.  It’s the perfect liner to create a cat eye or intensely lined definition of the eye.  Start at the inner eye and work your way out.   You can increase the thickness of the line as you go outward to make your eyes pop.  Keep a steady hand and tug your eyelid taut to get a perfectly straight line.

This look is not a look for puny lashes.   Thick, long and intense lashes help to make the eyes pop and balance the heavy liner.  First Mary topped her lashes with Lancôme Courbe Virtuôse mascara in black.  It lengthens and curves your lashes for up to 12 hours.

Next top your lashes with Lancôme Ôscillation mascara in black to add volume and length and it coats all the lashes all around.   Remember – intense lashes balance the intense liner.

Top your cheeks with this Lancôme Color Design Blush.  It’s a sheer, creamy blush that is easily blendable.   On Angelina, Mary used the color Mocha and applied it with her fingers.   I love this blush and it is so easy to apply and control where you put the color.

Keeping with the overall natural theme, top the lips with simple lipgloss by Lancôme.  Mary used Juicy Tube in Spring Fling.  It’s a soft pale pink that gives a touch of color, but a lot of shine.

This look is so easy and simple to create, and it takes you from day to night.  Give it a try – I bet you can do it.   Then go ahead, pretend your honey is Brad Pitt.   Why not!
