I recall the old Saturday Night Live shows like they were on the air today.   It’s when the show was good – beyond good, it was fabulous!   And Gilda Radner was one of my favorite comedians on the show.   In fact I still will quote some of her sayings at work and other places and people look at me like I’m strange – but then I remember,  most of my co-workers probably weren’t even born when the show was on.  How the heck would they know what I am talking about! 

And then she got devastating ovarian cancer.   Her book “It’s Always Something” – again a line from SNL, was one that I couldn’t put down and one of my all time favorites.   I’ll never forget her saying that May was her favorite month of the year – it’s always been mine as well (beautiful weather, one of my sons was born that month) and unfortunately she passed away during her favorite month.  

But her husband, Gene Wilder, along with Joel Siegel and Joanna Bull created Gilda’s Club in her honor.   Its an organization to help support the families and friends of someone who have cancer.
