Let’s face it, you can’t ignore skincare for the man in your life. Some men may hesitate, like Mr. Fab used to, so I know how difficult it can be to convert a man and get him into a skincare routine. But, for the most part I think I’ve succeeded in getting him to at least moisturize daily. Recently he ran out of his moisturizer he was using and it was something from Dior that had since been discontinued so I couldn’t purchase it again. You’d swear the world had come to an end. When he finds something he likes, he sticks with it – forever. So I told him I would do a little research and see if I could find something similar. Of course, he had to list his requirements to me (like I didn’t already know them). Not too fragrant and the biggest ones – not greasy or too thick. He said he wanted his skin to feel like it never had anything put on it. Can’t blame him – I think for the most part we all feel the same way about our skincare requirements.
So off to Sephora online I went to see what Dior had that would be comparable and that’s when I noticed they now have a specific Dior men’s skin care line, Dior Homme Dermo System. The handsome packaging was designed by former Dior menswear designer Hedi Slimane and the skincare was created in conjunction with the Harvard Medical Center. There are a few simplified pieces to the line
- Micro-Purifying Cleansing Gel
- Repairing Aftershave Lotion
- Repairing Moisturizing Emulsion
- Anti-Fatigue Firming Eye Serum
I purchased for Mr. Fab the Repairing Moisturizing Emulsion as it said it quickly absorbs and it mattifies the skin. It sounded like it would work perfectly as long as it wasn’t heavily perfumed. Well, he’s been using it a few weeks now and I can report that he really likes it – it meets all his non-icky factor requirements and I know he’s taking good care of his skin, too.
