Lancome Absolue L’Extrait Regenerating Ultimate Elixir is the newest addition to the Lancome skincare line. The cream is the pièce de résistance in their line calling it “a true masterpiece of regeneration”.
Created from the Lancome Rose (yes, there truly is a Lancome Rose) that was invented in 1973 born out of a complex multi-hybridization of crossbreeding 2,000 species. Over a period of 10 years, Lancome researchers studied the rose native cells (cells that are capable of multiplying themselves and differentiating into several cell types) found in the Lancome rose. Out of this research and state of the art biotechnology extraction process, Fermogenisis was created. A process so intricate that it takes nearly 10 weeks for researchers to harvest the quintessence and the living strength of the Lancome Rose. Every jar of Absolue L’Extrait contains up to two million of these unique rose native cells, Lancome’s most powerful regenerating ingredient.
Lancome Absolue L’Extrait was evaluated by a team of dermatologists on the expression lines (forehead wrinkles, frown lines, crow’s feet and under eye wrinkles) and wrinkles due to aging (nasolabial fold and wrinkles around the mouth). Significant improvement on each of these factors was noted around 11 weeks making the skin firmer, more elastic and more radiant.
The black and gold packaging pays tribute to the iconic Nutrix, the first emblematic skincare from Lancome in 1936. While rose is at the heart of this cream, it does have a bergamot top note and a musky bottom note. I’ve tested a small sample on the back of my hand and noticed how silky smooth and creamy it is, but it absorbed very quickly leaving my hand incredibly soft. It is quite fragrant which may irritate some who are very sensitive to scented skincare, but even with my pesky nose I noticed the scent dissipating after about 10 minutes or so.
What are your thoughts on this new Lancome skincare?
