When BB Creams first became remarkably popular last year they were touted as a product that would replace using your foundation, sunscreen and moisturizer as separate products and put all those benefits into one package. The use of BB Creams has evolved over the last year and many using them wanted more coverage than what was typically offered in a BB Cream and discovered it worked wonderfully as a primer instead. The B.Kamins BB Cream fits into my daily regimen for a couple uses. I like its lightweight texture and light coverage so I’ve been using it under foundation as a primer and on days when I have a more casual look to my routine – such as weekends etc, I use it alone and top it with a quick dusting of face powder for a smooth, soft looking finish to the skin.
The B Kamins BB Cream comes in only one shade – it’s a light-medium shade that when I put it on my hand showed as a bit more peachy than I was used to, but it blended into my skin quite beautifully. The first time I used it I was having a good skin day and decided to use it on its own and top it with just a face powder. I instantly liked how it felt on my skin – not heavy at all, moisturizing yet not leaving my combo skin shiny and oily looking. It just made my skin look refreshed. The next time I tried it I wanted a bit more coverage so I decided to use it as a primer. I typically have a love-hate relationship with primers. Love how they can make the skin look, but so many have dimethicone as a primary ingredient and my skin doesn’t like it. This has dimethicone in it, but it’s further down on the ingredient list so it doesn’t irritate my skin. I’ve discovered this works beautifully as a primer, especially with foundations that are labeled as “matte” or “long wear”. It gives the skin a nice base and the matte foundation can leave the skin looking flawless without looking heavy or pasty as the foundation glides on the skin better and less foundation is needed.
The first thing I noticed is that typically a BB Cream touts the SPF factor. This one does not, but it has other ingredients that are impressive and excellent for the skin, especially skin over 40. It has peptides and hyaluronic acid to correct irregular skin texture, sagging, dullness and wrinkles. Vitamin C which reduces the appearance of wrinkles and brightens the skin and another antioxidant is green tea extract that fights damage caused by UV, stress and aging.
Since I’ve received this I’ve used it nearly every single day and love how it feels on my skin!
